  5. I agree we need to fix the debt, but without understanding balance sheets, it is easy to get all worked up by specific numbers. Our assets greatly outweigh our liabilities, so net worth is ok. That was my point.

  6. I think you're exaggerating quite a bit. I have no vision of a Socialist Utopia, nor does Obama. By saying we are on the same team, I simply mean the longevity of the United States. We are going to have to adjust, adapt, and work together to make things work going forward IMO.

By falling into the Other Side trap, we become counter productive. I really don't think any Politician is either Right or Wrong in everything they say. We have to work together IMO.

  7. To quote Churchill I believe: If I were to agree with you, then we'd both be wrong.

Just trying to lighten things up a bit. Having a great trading day.

  8. Agree, and thanks for the +1 on the other post.

I think the GoP could come up with some viable candidates if they just get rid of the teaparty nonsense. There are some good people who, if unshackled by ideology, could be great candidates.

First, you can't speak to what Obama wants, nor can I. What we can do is gauge where he's going with his actions. His actions indicate that he's pushing for an entitlement society - there's no question of this.

As for you meaning the longevity of the United States in your "working together" comment, that's exactly what I meant when I said "we're working towards opposite goals". I don't want the United States you're trying to push on me. I want the one the Founders established. So do many other libertarians. What you and the left clearly are pushing for is some sort of entitlement society.

You can (like your pall L-K) say that's not what you want, but you cast a vote to make it happen, so your words are pretty meaningless when they go against your actions.
