Take This Trade, Hershey Traders?

  1. Thanks. I do post the big winners just to show that they are possible. But I have my share of scratch trades. If you were ever a salesman, you know Tom Robbins motto from 20 years ago: "One no closer to yes!"

Thank you for being serious, but it ain't in my repertoire. As an analyst I can run rings around the likes of Jack, but I can't trade for shit (psych problems). So now that my analysis tools are stable I am learning how to trade better. That primarily consists of doing what the fuck they tell me to. Strange, huh? Can't use my own tools.

And in a former lifetime I was a quality system hemi-expert. So I am always thinking Continuous Improvement, doing value stream analysis, running Zaizen events in my head, kanban, thinking "Muda, Mura, Muri", all that QA shit. So I am serious about maximizing the efficiency of one car. Scaling up arbitrarily just conceals method weakness.

  2. Thanks for being honest, you are 100% right, you need to feel comfortable with the tools you use first before sizing up. Its good to hear though that things are in place and you are continueing to improve. Many people suffer from what you describe, they can call out where a stock or the mkt is about to go but they cant actually put on a trade most of the time for psychological reasons. Then they get frustrated and the cycle repeats.

Just keep in mind, you need to be smart and clever to make money trading but you definitely dont need to be some Phd with a 160 IQ, most of those people are just too smart and will convince themselves 10 reasons not to take a trade even though their method says they should.

  3. I agree with Coke in that some quant types (not mentioning any names) are too smart for their own good, You are right, I should have included the volume as it did play a large part in keeping me in through that first pullack from my entry. Hope you work things out. You may have found your calling tho with the interviews. Do I smell a book?

They are so desperate to convince us so they can convince themselves

Give it up guys, you never call live trades, you have no track record.. and your mentor is a 3 time loser that cant make a buck in a trading contest :p
