Take down confederate flag, and change street names in public places?

  1. inconvenient? Brother, how is this question relevant to the issue at hand? I repeated YOUR OWN issue and point and brought forward my argument which disagrees with your point. After that you raised an utterly irrelevant question. Tsing Tao, seriously, are you able to hold one single fair and to-the-point discussion?

  2. Really? There are places that won't even let you fly an American flag outside your own home if it violates the association rules. Just two days ago one of your leftist goddesses(Hillary) said that not only the confederate flag shouldn't fly over the State Building, it shouldn't fly anywhere. her words, not mine. That's my problem with the left. They are never content to stop at sensibility. It must always go to an extreme which is why I wrote in my first post in this thread that while I don't think this flag should be on State property, we should never give in to the left because of exactly what's happening. One day it's take down one flag from one place and the next day it's remove all flags everywhere. remove all monuments, change all street names, stop all sales of flags(except for Nazi flags, apparently nothing bad ever happens under that flag). No doubt, absolutely no doubt that words and phrases referring to the confederacy are next.

  3. your problem with the left is that they take their constitutional right of free speech? Hillary Clinton is in no public elected office so what she says is her opinion. Do what you think is right in your own back yard. Issue resolved?

In 2014, a Winthrop University poll said six in 10 South Carolina residents wanted the flag to fly on statehouse grounds, a number that seems to have shifted since last week’s tragedy.

So people overall did not have an issue with it until the tragedy and the media ran with it. That's interesting.

  5. How fucking stupid are you? She's running for the highest office in the land, yet what she says means nothing? My problem is free speech from the left? NO Mr. Useful Idiot, my problem is that the left thinks that they are the only ones who should have free speech or expression.

  6. This, or she also took into account public opinion via media and via other channels. Now this must come as a huge surprise to Tsing Tao, after all nobody in the US or elsewhere is influenced by third parties, the whole issue of lobbyism (which Republicans know how to play so well) must be a phantasy construct, right? Not sure on what planet Tsing Tao is living but I guess here he got his answer.

Again, it's irrelevant because it doesn't follow your narrative. The difficult questions are always like that, aren't they.

It's likely volpunter doesn't understand the nature of influence here - he is, after all, a German citizen living in Asia. Add to this that his supporting cast is Canadian, and well, there's just a lack of understanding overall on the American value system. That's not meant as an insult, but it makes it easier to understand a more liberal viewpoint from our northern brothers and European friends.

  9. dude, which part in your brain is so incredibly confused? When it comes to decisions by elected representatives they do not have to ask each person or call in a referendum for each decision they make. They may take into account public opinion, polls, questionnaires, but by no means are they forced to go with some majority opinion in a specific poll. Which part is so incredibly unclear to you mate?

I understand you are against the removal of the confederate flag and you wanted to have all peoples' opinions reflected in the decision. Well, tough luck, next time you can put yourself up for election and do as you desire if anyone votes for you.
