    What?

Maybe I was a bit confusing in my commentary. If the people of SC find the flag offensive, they call their legislators and tell them they want it removed. The legislators either follow the will of the people or don't, and if they don't, and the people feel strong enough about it, they replace the legislators with ones that will listen.

As for not accepting that elected representatives, chosen in a democratic manner...etc...all that nonsesne, I have no idea what you're talking about. All I'm saying is that this is a state manner, not a federal one. Not a media one. Everyone should butt out and let the state decide. End of story.

As for no one in NYC or anywhere else, what do you call the current media shitstorm that is going on right now? Everyone trying to insert their will on what the state of SC should do. That's all fine and dandy, but when the President of the United States decides to rain in on it, or other senators from other states, etc, it's called political pressure. It's not just an opinion.

All I'm saying is let the state decide and everyone focus on more important things. You know, like the Ukraine. Like people dying in Iraq, etc. Not whether some flag that has been flown for 150 years is suddenly toxic.

  2. no, you still do not get it, it seems. The people already elected their representatives and the same elected representatives has made the call to have the flag removed. Whats so hard to understand here?

And sure, its a state matter which is precisely why the state governor ordered the flag to be removed.

I get it all along. You still don't want to listen to my point. Not that I'm surprised. Volpunter is always right.

Oh, and one more thing. The State Governor "decided" suddenly that it should be removed. Why? She was fine with it before.

  5. This was your point (I cite you): "All I'm saying is that this is a state manner, not a federal one. Not a media one. Everyone should butt out and let the state decide. End of story."

And I responded saying that it is and was a state matter in that the state governors have made their own decisions to have the flags removed. So, which part are you still disagreeing with?
That your country affords the right of free speech and that some media or political interested sides chimed in and voiced their opinions? Well if you dislike that then maybe you should try to make your living in North Korea where there is only one voice.

  6. not only her, but the governors of several states. So, wait, now you are suggesting they were pressured and influenced? Well, again maybe you should call in a national assembly and referendum to overturn the constitution and create a dictatorship if that suits your political interests better. But by large majority Americans hold on and cling onto the constitution and embrace it. In other countries the government prohibits the display of the swastika and fines and blacklists those who disobey. You are free to move to any country of the world, subject of course to them accepting you.

Can you answer the question or not? Why did she suddenly make the decision now to remove the flag after all this time? She's not a new governor. The flag's been there for a long, long time. Why?

  8. No, I choose not to answer your question because it is utterly meaningless and unrelated.

Write to your government representatives and ask them why. Until then you might want to accept what your own state reps decide and if you disagree you have the chance in the next election to vote for someone else. Simple, no?

Ah, and there we see it yet again. Whenever a question's answer is not convenient to you, it is meaningless. That's your M.O. volly.

Haley removed it because she got outside pressure. This discussion isn't simply about removing the flag from state buildings. It's about the total and complete deletion of the flag from everything and everywhere, because the narrative being assigned says it is a symbol of hatred. Even though public opinion chooses that it is a symbol of southern heritage - not hatred.

And that's where I'm going with this. The push to alienate a symbol that has been just fine for 150 years is suddenly toxic because the left's narrative is making it about racism. They took a horrible shooting incident and ran with it without any discussion or recourse - just instantly, overnight, the flag is now about racism.

    And that's just ridiculous.
