Hello T-Rex,
Am I correct in assuming (based on your earlier post) that you entered a long position at 1028.50 and were stopped out at 1023.50?

 

Personally, I think the stop-loss is way too wide, even for a 1-lot ES. The sideways whipsaw of the last couple of days no doubt is contributing to the performance so far. Once we work out of this chop and start trending, it might look better. But I would suggest using some sort of a sliding trail-stop like a MA or trend-line to shave off some of that open risk. Just my 2-cents.

Thanks for the insightful question.
In reality you are quite right!
If you are trading a system that uses wide stops and small profit
targets then in the long run you will fail! Unless you win more trades than you lose and you know when to let your profits run.
I began this journal on Tuesday so I really dont have a track record established yet for which to referrence my readers to yet.
However, I have been trading this system since 1999 and it has yielded me extraodinary profits. I wont even insult your intelligence with past performance without proof. That's why I started this journal so that others might see the proof in real time.

As for the last couple of days your right I've gotten my ass handed to me but over the last 22 trades (unposted ofcourse) Im still a net winner by more than 49 points!

How come your buy order was at 102850 when the top of the range is 102975 ?

I know this is hard to believe but that is in essence what I'm doing. The Choppy Mkt of the last 2 days hasnt worked for me but that goes with the territory. You will have losing trades and sometimes you can have 3 in a row in a Choppy environment.
However, as a matter of discipline I MUST take ALL of my trade signals.

 

Well I do have respect for someone who is willing to post realtime trades AND cop to the losses.

 

The buy order was above yesturdays high (though not done intentionally). I had no Idea that the mkt would stall @ 1029.75 I had FORECASTED 1032.00. So I was off by 3pts.
