    Welcome.

Your wrong. but I admit it does sound fishy to someone just passing through. to your credit you dont understand the strategy yet and I'd be glad to explain it to you.

I set 3 point profit targets on "ALL" trades.
Once the market has moved 3 pts in my favor I have the option of getting out @ profit or moving my stop loss to break even.

So the 7 pt profit on that day was as a result of moving the stop loss to break even and watching the screen for an exit.
That is why I said "Getting out with a 7 pt gain was not predetermined I just felt like taking profit....in hindsite it was the right thing to do but there was no majic or secret to me getting out."

    :)

Follow me for the next couple of days and Im sure you will learn something and make a little profit too.
    :D :D

Funny I don't see your journal out here anyware????

To my credit I've only been posting my trades here in realtime since Tuesday. Although it hasnt even been a full week you hardly have enough data to make such a harsh statement.

I welcome harsh criticism. Bring it on!
In the end we will see who's the mental case.
    :D

p.s. I hope you stick around on a daily basis and visit the journal I like the doupbting thomas mentality. It drives me!

Whatever your preconcieved notions are you cant argue with results........"given in realtime"!!!!!!!:D :D :D :D :D

  4. Hmmm - There hasn't been a 30 point intraday (NMH)range since march, and if it opens inside yesterday's range, then the NMH range required today is more like 35 points to achieve target which has only happened on a few occasions in the last 12 months and not in the last 5 1/2....

How do you come by a 30 point target for today? I'll warrant that a break from 2 days consolidation could be very lucrative, but I'll admit to scepticism about 30 points worth. - I really hope I am wrong though...

  5. T-REX,

please tell me you don't have a 30 point target for an ES daytrade.

    p. s. i hope you hit it, though. :)

T-REX makes the point many times that he has a 3 point target, not 30. The 30 he posted above is almost certainly a typo, or else it's an attempt at humor. Sheesh.

  7. Well - 3, I could easily understand. But 30.... Well - rather than making assumptions I checked a few stats - then questioned it...

That of course leaves open the question of, how come the stop is then nearly 4 times the size of the target? The relationship between 11. whatever and 30 is a reasonable R/R the relationship between the 11 point whatever and 3 target is a bit suspect isn't it?

  8. Ok that's the question answered, In between seeing the original post and writing the reply more had been posted clarifying the situation.

I still find 3:11.25 odd though.

  10. Well, probably 93% of traders trading a breakout method in a non trending market with such money management rules will lose their account
