T-bills for futures trading accounts?

Discussion in 'Retail Brokers' started by research12, Feb 23, 2008.

  1. Some futures broker allow T-bills in their customer's accounts. If you belong to a broker like this, can you post how much the normal commission is to buy or roll-over a T-bill?
Also, what's the minimum dollar size of a T-bill that I can buy?

    thanks in advance

  2. Depends on the broker, but the commission is usually $25.00 to buy the T-bill. If you buy the T-bill at the weekly auction, you don't have to pay the bid-ask spread, otherwise everytime you buy or sell, you are paying the spread.
T-bills can be bought in increments of $1000 face value.

And some brokers charge you nothing to "roll over" the T-bill after you've bought it. Check with your broker.
