Is anyone able to buy T-bills at IB? I have the correct permissions in account setup. When I try to buy T-bills I get a message saying "no trading permissions, regulatory restriction". I asked IB and was told they no longer offer treasuries. Nonetheless, I'm still able to get quotes on bills/bonds and they still show them as offered on their web site. Can anyone confirm that IB no longer offers treasuries?

    Thanks.

  2. I can't confirm that for Treasuries but many times I have put in an order for a bond purchase and have received the same message. So getting quotes is no guarantee that IB handles the security.

T-bills are now considered far too risky for IB accounts; thus, they have discontinued their trading on the IB platform.

lol, IB needs some float, their stock is not doing too well

  5. Considering all of the fear that is permeating through the financial sector, I think that IB's stock isn't doing that badly either. Just take a look at SWIM (could be worse).
