Thanks JR27. It really has been a very ranging week. My system is very unique as it incorporates both mean reversion as well as trend trading techniques. It takes advantage of trends but not as much as say a traditional trend follower, but during ranges it churns out money as well. Hope it goes well next week and we both make some cash!

As for today, systems went offline at around 6AM today as my computer restarted itself. Missed a great EURUSD and USDCHF setup which the black box would have picked up rather easily. Oh well. Cost me 12 cents as well as the missed profits. Thats one drawback of black boxes running on amateur technology. Oh well. Not trading anymore this week.

Equities just sluggish. I put in an order to long some more MUSAW. Lets see if we can get filled in the high 2.80 region.

Receiving a bunch of PMs regarding actual % returns.

Basically I started with 2K then added 500 and then added 3K more around 2 and a half weeks back. This means a total deposit of 5.5K to the brokers. Profit of 3522 on that starting capital.

Thus Total Return FX: +64.04%. Hopefully we can hit higher grounds soon.

MUSAW closed up Friday for a small gain. Nothing too major. I am going to bump up the leverage on my FX account this coming week. It seems I will have some free time so I can monitor the model enough to trade at a higher risk setting. I have made a small modification to the system which will allow it to have a better risk reward value than on the prior parameters.

Good luck this coming week folks.

Looks like this week is going to be just as bad as last. Still some cash was made:

    Monday: -$60
Tuesday: +$137.64 (only 5 hours were traded)
    Wednesday: (as of now) +$395.72

I had to close off a USDJPY short trade as my connection went offline at breakeven. System would still be in the trade. Not sure how big of an impact this will have. Otherwise systems just chugging along.

    Okay some update:

    Wednesday P/L: +$1065.72
    Thursday P/L: -$438.60

The early loser on thursday was a GBPJPY short which was caught offguard after that large move up. I have two trades open: short usdjpy, gbpjpy.

I have noticed a possible parameter about the system that needs to be updated to achieve greater risk management. The model uses the macro trend (intermediate 4H timeframe). However, the signal can have a lag of 4H maximum as I have made it such that even if an opposing signal is made its not verified until the bar is closed. However, I believe it will be very beneficial to sit aside when an opposite signal is made: no trading at all. This would reduce some of the losers.

Some nice trading today although the models sadly didnt capitalize on the big move well enough. The trailing stop took the positions out with a small profit before the big 100 pip move today. Would have been a great home run day. Oh well. The programming is still not sorted out so I will probably not be trading any more this week. However it may be plausible if the fix is made that I will trade the european session until around 8.20 AM EST with all positions liquidated prior to the NFP data report.

    Posted account balance below.

Nothing big in equities that is worth posting. MUSAW basically stagnating and just moving around with the market. Now its just a set and forget trade.

Its not possible for me to run the models tomorrow as I really want this additions programmed before I begin risking again as it vastly improves my returns. So no FX for friday. Week's P/L was pretty solid at +$1287.38.

Best of luck to you traders.

The FX market open was pretty quiet. More or less opened where it closed Friday. Some key data releases this week: trade balance, and CPI. Lets give it up for a good trading week folks!

Made a couple of hundred overnight. Sadly yesterday night by accident I closed a GBPUSD short at 1.7613 made by the system which would have netted some great cash. Oh well. Still made some cash so cant complain too much.

Very close to that psychologically significant 100% return mark. Lets see if we can pace our way through.

Some drawdowns coming in now. The strategy placed some great entry points early in the week but the orders were not executed due to price being just 1-2 pips away from the entry price. I have decided to execute the model on a much lower timeframe on a greater selection of currency pairs. This is because I believe the returns will exhibit lower volatility on my trading timeframe. As on a short term timeframe the spread becomes more of a burden I am going to stop trading the GBPJPY and instead replace it with two pairs: CHFJPY, EURJPY. These two pairs exhibit low correlations with my dollar major pairs so some diversification benefits will occur.

Lets see how this pans out.
