Initially choices like risk taken, portfolio selection, etc. have to be made. As I discuss in my book those choices were not all the same for assorted reasons. Tom Shanks and Jerry Parker to this day shoot for very different returns even though both are Turtles trading still very similar trend following methods.

Also, it is worth noting that Richard Dennis and Bill Eckhardt (The Turtle teachers) were not the same. Eckhardt back in the day and still now was the pure systems trader.

I am systems all the way. Guys that love a company and buy the stock, well, I'm happy for them but I love to try to puzzle out the math underlying the markets.. and there is some... and it pays you very nicely to know what it is... I've worked as hard on this as the typical Nobel Prize Winner works on their stuff.. for a similar length of time... and I'm happy with the results too...

I've observed a guy that used to print out his folio of absolutely failed dot com stocks that he rode all the way to the bottom and cry, every day.. I had told him it was a bubble... he wasn't a system trader at all, just a poor schmuck is all he was... I think it's my personality or something but absolutely nobody I've ever known listens to me.. just none at all... so I stopped telling them much of anything other than "thanks for the money oh great non-system trader" and "see ya, wouldn't wanna be ya".........

  3. It is a sad thing, when someone continuously quotes their own book, as if it has any relevance or value. Most knowledgeable people understand that footnotes refer to the work of OTHERS.

Are you saying my books have no value and they are the work of other people? I understand the minefield of debating with someone not all there, but I would like to see your explanation.

  5. He is probaly saying that he (like many others) is fed up with your monotonous, repetitive and vain self promotion.

He is probably also thinking (again like many others) that you suffer severly from narcissism.

  7. OP, is the cost of your sponsorship here translate in enough sales of your products and services to justify the expense?

  10. scrolling up or down and reading any of the other reviewed books is probably more useful. I doubt the authors quote themselves as an authoratitive source...

you know Covell, you might get a lot more traction if you participate in forums and actually offer useful insights, rather than the constant drone of testimonials

You are a sponsor, but definitely among the most annoying. Don Bright is a sponsor. His posts are often useful and show insight. try to be more like him and less like yourself. Your posts are often like fingernails screeching down a blackboard.
