I dont quite understand? Could you please dumb it down a little for me? Is it because the option is more expensive to buy from volatility, based on 'obvious chart patterns'? For both directions? But, if so, could you sell the option instead? Or simply trade the underlying? What am I missing?
by the way spreadbetting companies have been offering these types of "binary bets" for some time e.g. http://www.igindex.co.uk/ i assume the spreads they offer on these are so large compared to what you are paying on your instrument that your edge will not be exploitable.
also, if this type of a trade becomes a big liquid market of its own standing.. - imagine the kind of "games" people will want to play into the close every day (not just on triple witching).
I pointed my thread to one of my kids at college and asked for a opinion as to how to organize this so that the work I post is not lost in the masses of people that need to be heard. The first suggestion was to use Word to create documents (it's on my kids systems, but I seem to be a complete idiot trying to use it), use a pdf converter and host the file from a site that does such things. Then create a blog to organize the material with links. Then use this site to comment on the material and revise and re-post it as necessary to make sure it's at a level where everyone understands. It sounded good but the blog idea seems like I need to be a net wizard to do it, so I decided not to do that. I like the idea of editing a file and having it hosted so that I can revise (beyond 1 hr like here) until it's at a understandable level. I was trying to get started in Word and thought I'd try to build a table of contents. After about an hour I'm about ready to give up. Does anyone know of a good site or book to explain how to use word from a beginners to a expert level? I'd like to put in images, tables, and hyperlinks to other parts of the document with nice headers and footers, and a TOC. The product help seems useless as I can't seem to get it to do what I want. I really need some kind of tutorial thing to help get the work done.
Word seems a clunky way of doing this. Starting a blog, would be easier then learning word I think. They are very user friendly now. I'd forget worrying about converting it to a pfd too, thats only really necessary if you wish to publish something, like a book or a magazine article. If you go to www.blogspot.com, you will find it very user friendly and can post easy to locate information there. And start your own blog with ease! You may wish to only post text at the start and add images, tables, and hyperlinks afterwards as you get more confident. If you wish to do it immediatly it is also possible to learn very quickly too. I'd recommend having a play with blogspot before worring about the hassle of learning word. If theres anything I can help you with about any of this, PM me and I'd be more then happy to help out.
i started something, as an example http://acraryinfo.blogspot.com/ Thats what you can do really quickly. Hell, i can do it if you want. But really, its a piece of cake
I've looked at the the blogger stuff and I don't think it's what I'm looking for. What I'd like to develop are documents that can be printed and used for reference. I'm planning on creating something with indexes and additional info. on topics to explain concepts as well as cover the main material. Almost like a mini-newsletter. I think I've found a solution to my problem. Microsoft Publisher is installed on my kids computers and it looks like I can do what I want with it. If I export the file into postscript there are converters to pdf which should do the job.
If you run into any trouble, I'm sure there are plenty of us here (myself included) who would be willing to help put your ideas into a form you are satisfied with. Lemme know if Publisher doesn't work out for you. Adam
Hi Acrary, take a look at: http://www.baycongroup.com/wlesson0.htm I didn't look at the material in depth, but from the TOC it seems to cover most of what you would need - and it looks like it's free. Best Regards, Anthony
you might look into: http://www.videoprofessor.com/products/videoprofessorproducts.html they have free CDs and/or online lessons on many different products (MS Word, MS Office Suite, MS Publisher, etc). actually, if you order the CDs, i think there is a $7 s&h charge. if you do it online, it's free for 14-days, $5 for another 30-days, and then $15/month after that (so $5 for 44-days if you need more than 14-days, which you won't ). and, of course, as others have mentioned, you can always post your questions here and people will be happy to help. take care omni
