Found this thread by chance - my opinion is soooo different. One point about immigration, adding the non registered immigrants it's actually way more than 25%, hence there is even less need to speak swiss german. German is a definite plus but one can do very well in Zurich not speaking it. Immigrants come from more places than eastern europe as well. In Geneva over 50% of the population is foreign born. Laws used to be much more permissive than in most of Europe and nighlife in Zurich pretty wild (although it's a small city hence there are fewer clubs than in bigger places). Besides I don't like tropical and subtropical climates and don't mind swiss weather. It's expensive yes (quite a bit ore than Finland btw, I'm surprised at the OP's numbers), but incomes are indeed very high and it's business briendly. Nice country, I also like their neutrality policy and their attitude during WW2 is much more laudable than the attitude of its neighburing countries.
" much more laudable " except for returning swiss bank accounts to their right owners and the borders were not exactly open to refugees. with immigrants from the east and from africa it doesn't sound like english is the 2nd language.
Well, we're talking about the heart of continental Europe, there are 4 legal languages in Switzerland and none of them is english. Latin languages will go quite far all over Switzerland, particulary french and italian, but you should be able to go around with English as well. Also there are plenty of immigrants from Western Europe, and other places, I don't know what's the obsession with Eastern Europe. Besides I find it much better to accept the money from someone and return it if he manages to come back and claim it than confiscate his belongings, and accessorily hand him over to the germans like the french did to Jews on various occasions. Germany and Austria are other bordering countries with Switzerland, do you have doubts of which of those 3 countries attitude during WW was better ?
The country with the highest density of millionaires is Singapore not Switzerland. http://www.businessinsider.com/countries-with-highest-density-of-millionaires-2012-6?op=1
