Watch list for 09/20/2006 IMPORTANT: Take only the opportunities that you really like and understand. Always enter a trade with a trading plan. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me. There is a much greater chance of success in your trading if you understand the trade. That is very important. Taking just a few trades is enough to be a successful trader. Overtrading is probably the number one reason new traders fail. I personally mostly take swing trades. Please remember to keep that in mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Market commentary for 09/21/2006 Good day! The FOMC decision did exactly what was expected, NOTHING. Other than some whippy market conditions right after the announcement it didn't move the market very much either. We started the day with a strong gap up and that brought the QQQQ to the trap pattern on the daily chart. This confirmed the expectations for the market that I pointed out last night. The SPY and the DIA also gapped above the previous daily high and that also brought the buyers out. We had a few nice day trades in the room based on the morning move up. âAâ from the watch list had nice gap up and we took it on the gap rule (above the 5 min high for day trade). That trade wonât be in the tracking records list but I will follow in the trading room. After the FED announcement the market began to sell but not as strong as usual. It was more choppy or whippy selling so as a rule I do not trade after the FED announcement. I'm happy I didn't trade because we saw a nice pullback and a nice 15 min cup pattern form. The rest of the day the market stayed in a handle formation and that gives me a long bias for today, at least for the morning. For longer term traders I would use caution because the weekly resistance is still overhead. The daily charts look great, especially the QQQQ trap and that can bring a nice continuation. That also can be the situation for the SPY and the DIA which will bring us to the weekly 2t pattern. While we can not be sure of what the market will do today, we can recognize increase risk. For the reasons I explained above risk in higher so trade with caution. As usual I will go with the market. http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/09212006qqqq.jpg http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/09212006spy.jpg http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/09212006dia.jpg Watch list for 09/21/2006 IMPORTANT: Take only the opportunities that you really like and understand. That is very important. Taking just a few trades is enough to be a successful trader. Overtrading is probably the number one reason new traders fail. I personally mostly take swing trades. Please remember to keep that in mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found a number of possible day trades. It is important to evaluate them after the market opens and see what action can be taken. I will bring some ideas to this daily list under "day trade possibilities". All of these ideas can be interesting only as day trades. Please don't over trade them especially if they set up at the same time. I recommend only to take trades that you really like and understand. These ideas are just for the morning. I did not find very many interesting setups for swing traders this morning. My goal is to bring you lower risk, higher probability trades. The market is now is higher risk for new swing setups so the number of swing trades possibilities are fewer. Market commentary for 09/22/2006 Good day! The market did pretty much as expected. The market was choppy in the morning moving from high to low. That move up trapped some traders, but then the market showed its respect for resistance and sold off considerably. Remember yesterday I mentioned that there was increased risk in swing trades because the weekly resistance was still there and could bring problems for the bulls. After the morning chop the market started selling for the rest of the day. We saw 3 selling waves on the 5 min charts and that brought the QQQQ to the 200ma support area. The DIA and SPY saw the 10ma daily support area. Looking at the charts you can see the 20ma is a big support for this daily uptrend. You can also see the uptrend line. Tomorrow we have some room to see continued selling to this support area. It is important now for the consolidation of the 15/30 min charts to signal a bottom. From this we can plan our strategies, whether we have more selling or a trend continuation. Weekly resistance is still over head and we must respect that. Today will see higher risk and it will be best to stick with intraday moves. Perhaps we can find an "own way stock" for a profitable trade. http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/09222006qqqq.jpg http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/09222006spy.jpg http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/09222006dia.jpg I am always available via email if you have any questions. danded2005@inet.hr Good luck trading today!!!! Market commentary for 09/25/2006 Good day! Friday morningâs action was in the line with expectations, and unfortunately wasnât much for the trader like me. In the morning we saw the selling continue to the daily 20ma for SPY and DIA, which I explained in Fridayâs commentary. This is a very important support area, and most of the time will hold 1st try to break it. The rest of the Fridayâs commentary is meant for this week as well. From consolidation which started after the morning move down, we will see what we can expect for the future move. The consolidation started with the action at area lows, and for now that is favorable for the bears if you look at weekly charts for all indices (QQQQ, SPY, DIA), you can see the formed pivot bar of last week. When you add weekly resistance area here, you can identify with the charts for this week and not to expect easy days for swing long setups. Swing traders must use a caution for Monday because low risk setup indices need to have longer consolidation periods; at least for two days. Possibly, we will not expect breakouts before at least before Wednesday, which will be clear when you look at the 60 min charts. I want that consolidation show at least see the 20sma resistance area as a possible support for the move down. Of course, this is just an idea, but we first must observe Mondayâs trading action. Also, Mondayâs closing will show a clearer situation picture. For Monday I expect a choppier day, more range action. In that situation, it is preferable to stick with faster trades, mostly scalp and day trades. At market open, I will go over % lists in regards to gapân trap trades, which I will post in the room. Other updates will come via email. http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/09252006qqqq.jpg http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/09252006spy.jpg http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/09252006dia.jpg
