shiko, from what I see, you're working tickets around a battle zone (6325-6375) with no core position on. You're chasing it in a dangerous zone on a subhourly template.

To add, you're operating on micro timeframes with a "martingale" like template. When the big orders hit the pipe you'll get hit before you even know it.

    7/9/2008 9:34:41 PM Buy 1000 EUR/JPY $167.9950 $0.00 $0.00 ($0.08)
    7/9/2008 9:43:41 PM Buy 2000 EUR/JPY $167.9100 $0.00 $0.00 ($0.16)
    7/9/2008 10:04:21 PM Sell 3000 EUR/JPY $167.9550 $0.47 $0.47 ($0.24)

I'm not sure you're making money here, your commission on these three trades was 48 cts, your profit was 47.

    same here
    /10/2008 6:17:10 AM SellSht 1000 EUR/USD $1.5706 $0.00 $0.00 ($0.08)
    7/10/2008 6:38:15 AM SellSht 2000 EUR/USD $1.5713 $0.00 $0.00 ($0.16)
    7/10/2008 6:51:22 AM Buy 3000 EUR/USD $1.5709 $0.50 $0.50 ($0.24)

on these three tickets, you made 2 cts on 6000, you're better off with 3 mo TBills

When you're moving volume, you won't be able to make this 2 cts. I can't say for all the funds out there but I'm positive most will not deal with this style. It's simply too much overhead.

If I were to hire someone, I'm not sure if you'll be the one.

Having said that, you probably would make a decent FX dealer.

But of course this is just from a few days of records.

  4. Big orders hit me regularly. and I make money even when market goes against me. I am not going to go into details. it is my strategy and my secret...Now, I do not know how you counted profit. It is rather simple.

    31 trades 46000 $7.44 ($3.63)
    Here, My profit is $7.44 - $3.63 = $3.81
Now, the broker who is looking at me have commissions that 50% less that what I pay now. Second, you do not see how many and the percentage of winning trades I do. And I do it every day. and I do it in all conditions. Market went against me 100 pips and I got out and made money.
Everyone looking for different qualities and styles in traders. There are buyers from my style deffinitely. Plus, I am changing my style all the time depending on where I trade. When trading MT4 I had different style. It did not work well with EFX, i changed it. So, i see no problem for myself.

  6. I have been trading for 2 weeks with EUR/CHF to perfect the strategy. this pair is slower and less risky. Now, you see the results from more volatile pair. EUR/JPY.. Those who understand Forex says it is very good trading.
I will not be decent trader. I want to be great trader and I will.

  7. Shiko, you said:

"If guys in Swift did not have their added liquidity they would be toast."

    Care to explain?

btw... you'll probably get much more feed back on your forex trades if you start a new thread in the forex forum...

No no no, I don't doubt your profitability, I don't doubt it at all. (As you've already shown)

You need to make sure you're watching the downside. From what I see and I'm sure you know this as well, you're buying on the way down, in a dangerouse battle zone where stops are tripping each other left & right. If you're looking to join a prop desk (not a prop "job"), they don't like that style. That's why I said you might make a good dealer, because they're always long on the way down, short on the way up, and operate mostly on subhourly templates.

But hey, each to their own.

  9. Hi eusdaiki,

It is very simple. I traded equities only for 2 weeks. Actually, it gave me some ideas about forex trading. I am not sure about other companies. But when we traded with Swift, we were paid for added liquidity when we placed our orders and did not open positions manually. it meant that for example adding or removing liquidity with Nasdaq or some another similar company. we got $0.25-$0.28 per 100 shares if we opened and closed positions not manually but via that company. I was watching myself and others. I for example almost always tied to use this way to make money. It meant that even when I bought and sold for the same price. at $0, but did it using added/ removing with them liquidity , I still got the money. As a result, you could lose and make a lot of losing trades but end up with less loss than if there were not this option or even with small profit. I regularly observed it and if I traded like this in Forex, I would lose my shirt. In Forex i am paying commissions which are 2 pips, plus 2 pips spread. 4 ticks. it is only 1 tick when trading equities. That is why I told they would be a toast. There is no place for making so many losing trades in Forex and stay in the business.
I guess it would be good to start Forex thread. I guess i will do it soon. I am too busy with my trades:) things going good:)

  10. Hi CateFul, I always wanted to be a military men, may be it is a mental thing that I am operating in battle zone:)
But frankly everything is calculated and discipline with emotional coolness is very important.
It is my style and it works for me. I built the whole system around risk control.
As I remember, Deng Xiao Ping once told that it is does not matter what color cat of: white or black. What does matter if it can catch mice...
It seems that mine catches mice every day:)
