Well, I don't think it's a IQ issue, people panicked and got irrational when a new virus came out and now it's become a political issue, at least in the US, with democrats towing the line of their favourite politicians, no matter how nefarious it is. Surprised in the UK the conservative haven't taken a softer approach to covid restrictions btw. Can't say Madrid is Florida but it's been one of the most open places in Europe, atracting lots of foreign tourists lately ( media and politicians complain of French hordes downtown).
