Same logic to the UK 10.2 million, compare to 66.6Mil UK so X 6.5 is close enough. So 6,000 Sweden vs 11,300 UK First case Sweden 3rd March, USA 11th Martch. So 700 deaths yesterday x 8 not increasing decreasing so call it 600 x 8 Sweden 6,000 vs UK in 8days time approx 16,100 Sweden for the WIN on this 1!!
Norway and Finland together has more than Sweden's population. Similar culture, geography, food habits etc. # of deaths due to COVID Norway - 134 Finland - 59 Total - 193 Sweden - 919
That truth will bother many that continue pretending Sweden is setting an example for others to follow or model their response to Covid-19. wrbtrader
But Sweden is getting it out of the way quickly, the others will catch up when they release lock downs.
There's statistical data in medical journals involving infectious disease that countries with the higher % of deaths...typically are among the last group of countries to flatten the curb after the other countries with less of deaths have flatten the curve. Simply, if their % of deaths were less or within the curve of other countries...statistically you could be right. wrbtrader
Nobody seems to he sure of what will happen after the lockdowns, several countries in Europe are reopening slowly, including schools.in Asia, countries close to China are toughening measures. Hard to say now which policy will prove the most effcient, but imo locking up whole populations at home just to be able to show lower daily deaths from the coronavirus is most dodgy. It s like we should live as sterilized house pets so we can live longer. Or raising national life expectancy even a couple of weeks should come at any cost. Lockdowns haven t been extreme afaik in Scandinavia , and the countries there are better managed than most places in the world, including Europe. I m seing them from Spain so am very biased against the lockdowns, most especially the people s quarantine. Here even kids are still not allowed to walk outside the house after 1 whole month in this situation. Many are fine with hiding in their closet while playing Resistire" ( the quarantine resistance hit, ridiculous song imo) on their sound system. Now european politicians in Brussels are saying old people will probably be confined until the end of the year, especially in residences. That has been the case for a while already, and in France Spain and Italy at least many have died in residences from which much of the staff had absconded without proper care and isolated from their family. Those elders opinion is no requested btw, I m not sure they would elect spend a whole year locked in when facing a short life expectancy and often tough health anyway.
Just checked there charts, they've fought it, but it'll be back, can't keep fighting it, cause it'll keep coming back, got to accept it and just let everyone get it and accept the consequences. China did the same, on the basis all the journalists kicked out, they've got it back and this time they've decided they can't afford to fight it, just for it to come back again. It's like trying to not get a bad cold, it will always get everyone eventually.
Most of the elders would prefer to get on with it, the chances of them dying are still low without heart or lung problems why waste your life. Mates mom, 73, Daughters had it and her brother, both been with, so odds are she's had it but no symptoms, definately just wasting her life, although nothing to do, even if allowed outside, no cinemas, pubs, theatres, museums or holidays so her life is basically over until this is over. 67million peoples lives on hold in the UK, to maybe slightly reduce the deaths of people which have pretty much had it anyway, is just bad maths to me.
Sweden has it correct. They peaked a while ago just like the rest of Europe and their current CCP Virus outbreak is over. What they have that most of the rest of the world doesn't have is better herd immunity for the future and also they don't have a big task ahead of them to re-open their country. I like what Sweden has done.
