You can manipulate titles any way you want, e.g. Pro-Trump, anti-lock-down protester wants America to be more like social democratic European Monarchy with universal healthcare. Don't you love when a Monarchy can teach us something?

Btw, their hospital bed capacity is below American, Germany can really boast in this department.

Lock-downs brought more devastation to the economy than any war of the past already with more to come. Our grandchildren will be very greatful, no doubt.

    lol @the title indeed !

another interesting title below, let s see if that proves right, if so other countries might give up on year long restrictions.

Checked several mma and tkd gym websites in Stockholm today, struggling a bit with the swedish on the phone, on 1 website there was an announcement the management had decided to close it at the moment (it seemed they were not forced to) but on the others no such announcement, another gym actually had the timetable with no other comment ( I don´t understand swedish though)
Here we´re training at home, without teammates, on wooden floor, my knees feel like they are going to give up soon. Dental and health treatments are all put on hold, including one for daughter that needs to take advantage of her growth window, which is stronger now that it will ever be - plus her articulations and feet are hurting more than ever now that she has to train on hard floor. Dodgy online education, no friends to hang out with, no leisure, no outdoor except the garden. Worse for much of the society, less space and serious financial worries, some locked in alone. Their elders locked away from the family in residences allegedly for their own good yet dying alone and without proper care. A disaster.

Still not very keen to give Stockholm a try, so besides locally where the plan so far is to keep leisure and tourism industry closed until at least the end of the year, I´m following closely what´s going on in Austria and Portugal (Government in Portugal is planning to reopen much of the country soon, including the tourism and leisure industry, although with some restrictions. Portugal doesn´t seem willing to waste the summer tourist season), hoping at least the borders reopen soon, it is an easy drive from Madrid. But the problem with countries that implemented a lockdown than eased it is they seem more likely to re implement the lockdown than Sweden that possibly already endured the worst of the epidemic in case virus cases flare up.
If Portugal is open this summer while Spain is closed, it might get absurdly crowded though, I even suspect a bunch of expats will move there from Spain so getting spots especially in last minute in the International schools there gonna be very hard.

Actually read today about the healthcare in Sweden, more wondering what to expect if moving there than specifically against the coronavirus, and it doesn´t look that great by european standards

And for WHO to never question the statistics and not digging in further is beyond believe. After all, these are supposed experts who dealt with epidemics world wide all their careers and the world relied on they for guidance:

China and Iran, both with third world healthcare systems and huge population, are doing far better than Europe and the US? Someone is asleep at the switch.

From what my German friends tell me, their limitations are quite reasonable: one can jog in a park or take a walk there

Read Germany reopening quite a bit of the country, including shops below 800sqm and food stalls as long as people are seated outside. Possibly some schools as well, can´t remember. Northern Europe has fared pretty well so far. Interesting how some countries in Eastern Europe despite very few cases have initiated very strict lockdowns, this virus gives us an idea of how human rights are respected in various parts of the world. I might give this a very serious look in a few years, now afraid to reach 60/70 in a country where they decide to lock in older folks indefinitely for the own good.

That was the trick. To do it BEFORE the death count/spread goes up. Nepal locked down before they had even one case!

I think so did El Salvador, closed borders and locked people in their house very early, committing various human right abuse in the process, not sure how they plan to open up nor if they really cared much about the virus in the first place.
Northern European countries have done pretty well so far, they don t seem to have resorted to extreme restrictions while managing the virus and now already opening up. Some Eastern European countries have used tougher restrictions and not clear they are opening up any bit yet . Might have to do with respect of individual freedom.
In Spain government announced a few days ago they´d allow kids to finally go outside from April 27th, so after spending 6 weeks locked in, but it now appears the kids will be only allowed to follow one parent to the supermarkets and other essential stores, like the drug and tobacco stores. Government couldn t find anything healthier to bring back some air and life in local kids...
We ve been taking the kids along while shopping since the beginning btw, which one is allowed to do 1 adult at a time only, didn t know the kids weren t supposed to come, now I m imagining a bunch of kids hanging out in the supermarkets with their mom or dad, that sure beats hanging out in the public parks (an official mentioned kids might touch an infected surface in the park, fair enough, closed shopping spaces must be safer than...)
