I understand your situation. The learning curve on these things is very high, which can be argued provides a moat to prolong the opportunities I looked into your wallet address to try to assist you, sorry I know it's invasive. I won't do so again, but your address is still on the attached OP so as you said, don't use that address for too much funds activities, create a new wallet if you'll continue with this or if you give up, it's ok too, better not to lose money on this You can download the metamask chrome extension and input your seed phrase (12 words) and you can add the custom token on metamask Make sure you don't have a virus on your OS or malicious extensions on your Chrome if you're going to add more funds in the future
Thanks a lot. I have figured out my wallet problem and the swap issue. Aside from the learning curve the wallet I have for "free" has horrendous fees but I found my lost coin and I am happy. Received 1,142,504.3064 SHIB 13 hours ago
Glad to hear it worked out Portis wallet does not charge fees. I've never used it but it looks like it's issued by Shapeshift, a trusted name in the cryptos No decentralized wallet charges fees. Metamask, Bitcoin core, Electrum, Trust Wallet, etc The fees are charged by the blockchain (Ethereum in your case) and the dex (Uniswap in your case) Ethereum fees (gwei) charged in Eth amounts are very high in $ terms right now with Ethereum price being high (above $2K at this time) and Ethereum network congestion Binance Smart Chain gwei are charged in bnb amounts which in $ terms are way less than a $ even more complex transactions such as a dex are still low in $ terms and Pancakeswap dex also charges very low fees in $ terms There are other L1 (Blockchain) platforms but these 2 are the biggest for smart contract and defi ecosystem, although BSC can be argued is not decentralized
It's in your wallet. If you are gonna do anything DeFi, best to get Metamask. Once you do, you can do as John says and the token will show up in your wallet. It's in your ether address, your wallet is just a browser to view the blockchain. edit: I see your problem is resolved. Keep with it, it's like getting frustrated learning to drive a car - you could give it up but it would effect your future opportunities.
I understand, it is nice to know...Fees... It is a learning process but not a clear-cut one. Portis is weird and somehow affiliated with Shapeshift(?), where it is still in beta. Apparently, it is a work in progress. I wanted to get a low-priced coin but I paid handsomely for it...it is play money. I am focusing on BITQ for true long-term crypto investing.
Nothing is clear-cut as this is a decentralized environment, p2p, and all. There are no 800 support numbers or emails for the Ethereum blockchain or any blockchain Best option for help is to go to the communities such as Reddit or Twitter Pretty much in the same way you get support of other open-source software like Linux I don't know much about Portis but I just saw on the google search that it's associated with Shapeshift Regarding very high fees on the Ethereum blockchain, it is better to trade on a centralized exchange such as binance.com, Kucoin.com , Huobi.com or Kraken.com but I understand if it's not available to you as a US resident The other option is a decentralized exchange on a low-fee blockchain such as Binance Smart Chain using Pancakeswap, but that comes with even much higher difficulties than you experienced so far and more pitfalls for mistakes. I would not recommend it for you
Get this and get that, swap this and swap that, be careful about this and about that. Pay this fee and that fee. PAL this shit sounds awfully complex given the premise was that it will make everything faster, easier, and cheaper.
Yeah, except I don't have any issue working through brownian bridges, derive PDEs, and perform change of measures on complex derivatives. It's more like I don't have any inclination to expose myself to bullshit that self defeats every promise it once held. Cheaper, faster, easier. Lol
Map is not the territory but whatever. Have fun with your models, maybe someday you'll update the mental base layer OS. Modeling meme propagation through social media is the new terrain.
