Surprise Surprise,Murderer Trump supporter Kyle Rittenhouse is a White Supremacist

  1. We can defelct and make up hypotheticals if you want to discuss but this case of the Norfolk cop has nothing to do with BLM, Trump, racism....

You still dont think the cop should be fired but how can you have a cop saying that ALL policement support vigilantism and felony murder. Cops don' get to speak for the entire police force when they publicly support someone convicted of felony murder and who admitted to the crime (there is no doubt about what he did).

First accept this real case and then we can discuss any fantasy cases.

It's a slippery slope -- where does it stop?

  3. I dont think this case is a slippery slope.

You don't get to speak for all cops and make such a claim. Who is this guy to wear a shield and tell a murderer all cops support him???
You don't get to publicly support someone convicted of felony murder who admitted to the crime and keep that job.

    Now on to your point
Cops and Judges and city officials have restrictions on political activity so this should not be an issue.

Private sector- you can fire people for anything so we cannot expect a standard rule.

BTW -- the only written restriction on government employees is regarding receiving anonymous donations to their own defense funds (or any other gifts, etc. from others).

There are no written rules about government employees anonymously donating to the defense funds of others -- as far as I can tell after searching for references.

As part of the slippery slope -- remember that Democrats were calling for anyone, including government employees, who donated to Trump to be fired.

  6. I am not referring to anonymous donations, he violated ethics rules in donating to a felony murder suspect and declaring all cops support him. Remember he wears a shield that represents the city and if he does anything improper he can be fired. Ethics violations are pretty broad and I don't have to see them to know he was wrong to make such a statement.

Imagine he is in full uniform in a strip club on that is all over the media...it brings bad publicity and image to the badge.

Remember it is not the donation but who it was (felony murder) and what he said (all cops support felony murders). Not politics.

So do you expect all the other cops and government employees who donated to the Rittenhouse defense fund to be fired? I will note that other government entities came out and stated that employees personal donations were their own business and not that of the government while refusing to take any employment action. Why he disparity across the governments entities if this is so "cut & dried" case for termination.

  8. Each police station is responsible for its own "policing" of employees.

Again, this cop wrote that ALL COPS SUPPORT THIS FELONY MURDER VIGILANTE. The Chief of police said they cannot have a police officer that loses the trust of its citizens with such comments. So he had to go.

I am pretty sure the statement is what got him fired.

Police, Judges, Etc. are in positions of power over public individuals. They must avoid even the appearance of prejudice/bias.

This is why Judges may recuse themselves, or be removed from a case.
This is why officers with a connection to a case, can't 'work it.'

Other government employees don't have these concerns.

Secondly, all government employee classifications aren't legally equal. Different rules and regulations apply. The military; Intelligence Agencies; Appointees; Temporary; Career; DC Workers; WH Workers; Etc.

Your "cancel culture" didn't fire him. His Police Dept. did. You should go whine on the department's twitter account.

So tell us what is the definition of an acceptable legal defense fund to donate to without getting fired?
