No need to answer Surf, it was a trap anyways. Your silence on the matter speaks volumes. I can understand not wanting to concede your entire argument against TA by admitting that past price can useful for making trades.
Every trade taken by anyone for any reason is by nature "anticipatory" or it would not be taken - So this really means nothing.
TBH I believe that most discretionary types ignore what they see and act on preconception. My last two ES trades were based on the quote screen and I hadn't looked at a chart all day. I base a lot of vol-trades on TA, for lack of a better term, and often ignore the vol-line entirely. I doubt it matters much that some act on the key reversal printing or the news that drives it. Mav uses ACD and it's essentially a hybrid but based on realized vol to some extent. Certainly not traditional TA. I suspect Surf is a closeted TA guy.
So Mav trades using TA, traditional or not, it's related to past price. Mav trades using TA, Surf. How do you feel about that?
Let's have Mav say he uses chart based TA to make real time trading decisions. Not hearsay. Otherwise, its all just BS and potentially him just jerking you around. don't think that happens in the markets? think Again! Every wonder why he is strangely quiet on the issue? surf PS-- what happened to RCG stepping up to the plate? What about NoDoje or hershey or Xspurt? everyone afraid of failure?
What about it? My issue is with chart based TA reading to make real time buy/sell decisions. In the spirit of NoDoji style--- I have not issue with TA being used to describe what has happened or to get a "feel" for what has happened. surf
So you are totally cool with past price and it's usefulness in finding trade entries, so long as no chart is involved?
