Correct, I had another alias, but never trolled, always posted about trading. I participate in this thread, because I don't have something to contribute at the moment, which deserves a separate thread. At the same time your thread exposes several interesting matters, which attract me and are great demonstrations of certain trading problems. Have a news for you: threads on ET or whatever forum are not private property of authors, thread starter is not thread owner. I suggest civilized discussion about trading. If you agree, fine. If not it's not my problem, sorry, public forum threads and discussions are for the benefit of all participants, not just for the ego satisfaction of the thread starters.
You won't become truly consistent unless you stop rationalizing your inconsistency. Stop saying this "less than 1% blah blah...". Just BE THAT 1%, how easier can it be? Sometimes I wonder, are true samurai completely died out? Is there something in the water probably that makes people so flabby? One 70+ trader who helped me tremendously (Bighog is his ET alias) often repeats: "I seek stress, it motivates me, I force myself to perform". Those old people are truly consistent, they never think like "just 1% can do it, uh oh".
I have never refused that Xspurt is my online friend and gave me a few valuable trading advices in the past. Completely free, I have never paid him a penny. Yes I do manage OPM, but how does it make me a "stealth vendor"? Don't you also say that you attract investors for funds and that ET helped your career pretty much? Didn't Atticus also say he managed OPM and probably will manage in the future as well? Does it make all of us "stealth vendors", just because we mention our business on a business forum? As for my claims, I suggested you sincerely and honestly: if you have doubts about my words, why not check for yourself what is true and what is not? Why go mad and accuse me being a "stealth vendor" when you're free to KNOW the reality instead of useless rants about how someone is legit or not? Once again: let's discuss trading as it is. In the form of civilized arguments based on live facts, evidences, not prejudices and personal negativity.
Why not post some PnL blotters..month, week, etc. ? ( the question is open to all guys in thread who brag profits) IMO, that takes your honesty to another level.in your case that should look even better since you run opm as most of us are independent. All you guys bickering is getting really old, we need something new and a bit more manly posted here.
I agree that it's getting really boring, would much prefer solely trading related discussion without all that crap at all. As for blotters, I don't brag profits, just mention some of the general ideas related to performance, goals, trading as a whole etc. If I was a vendor looking for investors here I would do exactly that: just post some blotters in a separate journal. But people who are really interested get more than just blotters and those who are not... I don't recall blotters ever convinced compulsive pessimists. They are all either "photoshopped" or it's just a "lucky streak and will end soon (Surf once said "your edge will probably cease in... 18 months", lol) et cetera. No thanks. My point is not prove how great I am, but rather discuss trading in a constructive way.
First, your supposed profits and the number of readers have no correlation whatsoever. (a negative correlation makes more sense, because visibility adds more pressure to perform well) This Journal could have 50 hits a month and still be profitable. Or as it is, 50K hits and in the red. Second, I think you care about the hits and visibility more than the quality of the journal. I think you agree with Zsa Zsa Gabor, there is no such a thing as bad PR.
Exactly. He says he doesn't brag but states multiple times that 20% returns are "poor trading" and that he consistently achieves way more than 20% returns without taking corresponding risk. This is either deliberate to attract readers, subscribers, outside money or shows much ignorance regarding the markets. Either way, this type of hubris is not welcomed on the surf report. I don't get why the guy doesn't start his own threads. there are tons of folks on here who "want to believe" what he says. You will never see any evidence of the ET trading gods success because there isn't any. surf
look guys, so few traders actually make money in reality that any positive percentage return is fantastic. if i had a nickle for each time i knew a guy who could/will not post PnL for their "expected response" i would not need to trade any more. i guess if you are with a small account ..say running 10 lot futures or the sort..to earn 20-100% would be exemplary. but surf you are truly a literary genius (at least compared to us here) to talk such nonsense as buying a car, etc with winnings..it does get people worked up despite its clarity as BS. for me, a 1-3% month are my dream targets to hit....but it did take a lot of possibly "lucky" 100% yrs. carry on the nonsense if you must...
