  1. Surfy is a self-promoting, name-dropping, "financial groupie" dweeb that can't trade...but his misguided posting and journals are fun to follow. Mostly because of the banter he attracts.

I'll miss him for the two days he'll be gone...

Cummon back Surfeur. Nobody can quit ET!

He only ran off because his last trade was so far out of the money.

Had it instead been $20,000 in the money he would still be here, although he probably wouldn't have let it ride to that much profit.

  3. Collectively we owe a great deal to surf for revealing the slimy underhand activities of the forces of darkness he has righteously exposed with his sword of light before our otherwise blind eyes here on ET. Without surf demonstrating how ET is infested with an abusing, loose cannon, bullying mod cop brandishing his power badge and harassing Baron's members, I ask you all, where would we be? Please take this matter to heart.

It seems that because of Baron's seemingly senseless intransigent refusal to bend to surf's demands and demote oraclewizard77 we are going to lose what surf describes as the most provocative and valuable content and most popular thread on ET. Perish the thought that we might be witnessing the pirouetting of a drama queen trying to hold Baron to ransom. No, never! This is only about the forces of light and darkness.

Some of you have wrongly accused surf of closing his thread last time (and this time) because his PD's were well below periscope depth but can I just point out surf made his reasons for closing shop last time perfectly clear...

    Quote from marketsurfer:

"The thread was closed due to stealth vendors, publicity seeking creeps, sycophants, and politicos taking it over. I will restart a journal soon with tighter moderation. thank you for your paitence! surf "

Not one of you expressed your deep sense of appreciation for surf's sword of light so I took the enormous weight of gratitude on my broad shoulders and paid my respects (http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=261550&perpage=6&pagenumber=4on) on behalf of ET as follows...

Sounds like under the calm beguiling surface, your thread was actually degenerating into some creepy ET version of the crepuscular Gotham City, except even Batman couldn't see what was happening before our very eyes as this required Superman-like surf-vision to see what others can't. Thank goodness you rose to the task and I want to commend you on identifying such hitherto unintelligible activities, but I'm concerned about the lack of evidence exposing them as the charlatans will surely continue to pollute ET.

Take for example a stealth vendor: to the rest of us simpletons the term sounds like an oxymoron, kinda like arrogant humility or an authentic replica. It would certainty be a new business model that I'd like to short as it's like a shop with the shutter pulled down. Only Superman would know that behind the hush-hush screen is a means to making - well whatever such an enterprising marketing method makes. You even saw super secret stealth vendors, kinda like a shop in a nuke bunker. All I can say is, Wow! as I take my baseball cap off with a shake.

Then you were infiltrated by publicity seeking creeps who didn't know that they could garner much greater targeted publicity with their own thread. How noble of you to stop them dead in their tracks to protect us from whatever you protected us from.

On top of all of this you carried the immense burden of sycophants. Now this will require top level mod training to identify these monsters lest the mod gets confused with your bell-ringing about how popular you are. It could easily be confused with you playing poacher and gamekeeper if the mod isn't well trained. It must have been a crushing weight for you to observe sycophants while the rest of us went about our business on ET unawares of such dreadful activities.

But the politicos must have been the final straw that broke the camel's back when they did, well... whatever they did. I have to admit, I'm at a loss for words on this one as it's too deep for me. Do you think Obama might have sent them? Now I don't want to sound conspiratorial (as I adjust the tin foil under my baseball cap,) but I know for a fact that "O" has a specialist team working on such.

I'd like to encourage you to man up and take names and give evidence as proof lest some believe the whispers on the grapevine that surf has collapsed into emotional slandering under the weight on PD's going the wrong way, is seeing ghosts where none exist and can't distinguish friends from enemies.

You can count on me to stand toe to toe with you to defend the good name of ET. If superman had a partner, I'd like to be it, even if I can't see thru disguises like you can. Just give me the evidence, name names and point me in the right direction and I'll do the rest. We could develop some kind of super-bark like Bolt uses so successfully to get them off ET.

Surf, if you come back I'm sure some guilt ridden souls will team up with you and me to clean ET up.

  5. It was never vending that bothered him.

Just that when I show you that no matter what initiated his trade, there is an aspect to the trade like (I want to make money) that is the primary motivation.

With that said, pds, TA, I guess just because my computer told a trader to buy my contracts that that means since it's TA that it won't work.......right. I don't know where the part about quantitative techniques being used to time markets coupled with state of the art artificial intelligence and genetic algorithms is the same thing as using TA.

This doesn't appear to be so.

    Keep calm, carry on.

I've lost track of the trades profitability a long time ago, and even when I'm down, I don't find it helpful to do anything except re-genetically optimize only to find nearly identical values for my parameters. This would imply stationarity in the variables, and not the randomness you'll find in less sophisticated algorithms.

I had a mind to type the 26 digits I go through to find that needle in a haystack, so if surf says his pd's work, it's more insulting for me to tell you that mine probably work much better and with way less effort than anything that he has come up with.

  10. Has the position of this trade prevented you from taking other trades?
