    Hi RodSurfWhatever!!!! you are right again!!! These trolls are killing this site... You have the Surf Alerts thread, Surf is focused on his Magic Price Drivers (which come from Secret Databases ---- either Area 51 or the new Florida location) and people start to post random bulls&it and take the mojo away for 10 pages or more. This is just not right..... Sad actually.

    What we should do is ask Baron to allow the Original Poster, in this thread that would be Surf, to moderate his own thread to produce a body of information he can be proud of. Soon, others would start to do the same, creativity would increase as more people can see their best efforts without the biases of these damn trolls.

    What do you say? Send a post to Baron and let him know today, "Support the Self Moderation of threads!" "Ban the trolls; free creativity now!"

  3. Slacker....YOU are in luck. Such an idea has been proposed and is in the process of becoming a reality. Great timing with your post :)

  5. Baron is vehemently against the idea of self moderated threads just as I am. It makes no sense whatsoever. If you see a post you don't like, report it via the complaint button. Mods will remove it if its violation of TOS -- Just because you don't like a post doesn't mean others don't like it.

    Seriously, what are you a junior cop or something? Maybe you should apply to be moderator rather than propose such site killing ideas.

    And I quote ;

    What message board allows moderating your own thread? I've never even seen that ability on any message board.

    Furthermore, here are some of the reasons why such a feature won't be implemented:

    1. Every thread started will essentially have a different moderator, each with his own standard of what's acceptable and what isn't. You think the standards are all over the map with the handful of moderators we have now? Wait til' everybody is a moderator!

    2. The capability of mass post deletion, meaning that if a user has a popular thread and then later decides to leave the site for good because he blew out his trading account or whatever, he may decide to also delete his threads or the replies of others, which will leave a LOT of people very pissed off.

    3. Conflict of interest. I don't think you can have your own thread and be a very objective moderator at the same time. Some people are power hungry, egotistical, thin-skinned, etc., which makes them poorly suited to moderate the posts of other people.

    You don't think maybe he was being facetious?

    Or at least he was...FOUR YEARS ago.

  7. Ok mr. Junior police officer. Would you like some more power over the contents of this site? How about absolute power over what others see and read? I betcha you would really like that. How exciting! Only one point of view and you can be god like! Oh my--- not only could you control the poster himself,you could control the entire opinion on the thread. NO ONE could disagree with you or question your wisdom--- what a great world you could build. I am soooo impressed with your reasoning ability.

  8. Not so good at reading dates, huh? 2013 > 2009. Baron is open to the idea now. Unlike some folks here, not everyone has a closed mind :p

    P.S This is NOT your website, why are you having such a temper tantrum? :confused:

  10. Not when it goes against a brilliantly reasoned post that continuals to make sense today.
