  1. I LOVE bollinger bands. They describe what has happened like all TA-- but as you can see, they had nothing to do with the trade---at 10:24 AM.

    TA is descriptive, not predictive.

I don't understand how Bollinger bands describe what has happened. I categorize BBs as an indicator, indicating the level at which price is or will be a certain deviation from a moving average.

Price tells us what has happened.

What do the Bollinger bands on your chart say happened that a price excursion itself fails to tell us?

I know of nothing that's predictive. Good news can spark a selloff, bad news can spark a rally; inside information is only as good as the reliability of the source; indicators, moving averages and trend lines offer frameworks around which probabilities can be tested.

What is an example of something that's predictive in the sense of the definition "to make known in advance"? Obviously anyone can predict anything, but what would be accurately predictive with regard to the market other than probabilities?

  3. Price Drivers are predictive--- as demonstrated.

All charts describe what has happened. A chart couldnt' exist in the future. Just like Bollinger Bands show how far price was away from the mean---

I guess, if you have the mind for it, you dont' even need to use a chart at all--- as you can picture it while watching price change, right?

This is a nice resource for intramarket analysis---

There's been no demonstration of price drivers being predictive. In some cases price moved in your favor and you took profit; in other cases it moved against you and you took the loss.

So it appears that price drivers can only predict the probability that price will move in your favor a certain number of ticks before hitting your stop loss, same as TA.

  7. There have been four Price Driver swing macro calls for 2013 and all four have been profitable. The first was on

    1. December 31 as 2013 being a super bull-- Occured

    2. The top is in call-- demonstrated here, shorted

    3. Close short short term-- demonstrated here

    4. Reshort today-- so far so good...

All are demonstrative as being predictive of what price was about to do--- sometimes the timing isn't perfect, other times it is like today.

  8. TIMING is everything IMO....seriously everyone including my mother will be correct about their market opinion SOMETIME during this year!
Making money is more than....... accurate "predictions"....it requires very good timing. uhmm today? Market went up (you were wrong) market went down (you were right) and ended pretty darn flat.

  10. Is this a reprise of the multi-alias troll who plagued the Surf Report in weeks past? The thread's content has been so much better since he/she was banned. By the way, was the troll's IP ever traced back to Ohio? In any case, congrats Surf, you're on fire. Wow!
