Markets will always be driven by fear and greed. When people are feeling optimistic they focus on the news that justifies their greed, and vice versa. At any point in history, any crash was followed by regulation to make sure a crash never happened again. See how that worked out.

People forget that the actual cause of a crash is extreme optimism per se. You get to a point where a meme becomes so saturated that there is no one left to convert. At this point the greater fool fails to show up.

BTW I agree with surf that there will be an epic bull market after this collapse, simply because a new secular bull will begin after this (from 2000) secular bear has ended.

  2. Thanks,Sheda--- those are interesting points.

I think by 2055 markets will simply go flat and there will be no interest in market speculating. I have always believed this will be due to the ability to predict what's going to happen. But it could also be due to govt sanctions/ control.

I didn't want to pollute cornix thread with answering your question. Thus, I've replied here in your own thread considering its your question. :D

The trader's name is indextrader7. You can use ET search menu to find his thread @ http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/search.php?s=

As stated before, it was short lived, profitable and involving his TA. Unfortunately, these types of threads are NOT profitable as usual whenever someone post live trades with TA, post broker statements with TA, post live video with TA or post some sort'uv verification with TA.

In contrast, if someone post a thread involving performance results without any explanation of the reasons for the trades regardless if the trader uses TA or something else...these are very popular threads that attract tons of debates and arguments. Same with TA threads without any performance results.

By the way, if you review the past 5 years of journals here in the journal section. You'll find three more similar profitable threads involving live calls or live video with the trader discussing the TA. Those threads too had very little replies...not popular and short lived. Simply, trader eventually stop posting and moved on elsewhere.

Makes me think these are "attention gathering" traders that gets bored with their own threads when ET members aren't interested. Thus, they abandon their own threads and then enter the threads of others or they move on to other forum locations to try to find a more interested crowd.

Yet, I have not seen any long lasting threads except at ForexFactory.com (foreign speaker) and one a french forum involving live video and another at a German speaking forum by one of dukascopy winners. To locate those threads, you can use Google @ http://www.google.com

By the way, cornix is not deluded by TA. He just doesn't know how to start proper threads on the topic of showing "TA works". Thus, you can't do such via separating TA from the performance results as he's doing along with him NOT discussing any TA strategy details that correlate with the performance results. It's just a strange behavior by him to keep the two separated with the caption...

Stay tune (keep reading) because the info will be posted later at another location.

Anyways, you have many threads (a few here at ET) started by traders that had performance results and TA correlated in the exact same thread...you can get started via the ET member indextrader7.

    Correction below...

...As stated before, it was short lived, profitable and involving his TA. Unfortunately, these types of threads are NOT profitable as usual whenever someone post live trades with TA, post broker statements with TA, post live video with TA or post some sort'uv verification with TA...

The above statement was meant to say the following...

Unfortunately, these types of thread involving someone posting live trades with TA, posting broker statements with TA, posting live video with TA or some sort'uv verification with TA are NOT popular.

I have no explanation why but that is a fact. In contrast, someone else starts a thread posting hindsight TA analysis...the thread quickly becomes one of the top visited. Someone posting in-depth TA strategy with NO real trading performance results...the thread quickly becomes one of the top visited.

You get my point about why long time members like you do not start TA debates in those particular types of threads where verification and TA are posted in the same thread.

  6. Ok, whatever you say. Clearly, these "threads" DO NOT exist. Otherwise, rather than pontificating, you would simply post links. Imagination is a wonderful thing!

  7. Those are "recap" videos, just as bad as woulda coulda woulda chart analysis---- WRB stated there are real time videos, in fact he stated index trader had posted real time videos--- those are in no way real time. I'm really disappointed!!

I'm not sure why you're listening to bmwhendrix. I did not post that link.

I will repeat again, indextrader7 has posted recorded real-time videos of real trades. In addition, he posted a direct link to the Google +Hangout so that you can watch him trade in real-time prior to him posting the recorded real-time videos just in case some smart butt say the recorded videos of his broker platform and charts were edited to make look real or that he only showed the winners and not the losers in the videos.

Is ET search link to difficult for you to use or do you want someone else to chime in a post incorrect links for you to harp on. I hope your TA research into the merits of TA was much better :D

    http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/search.php?s=

Yet, lets pretend you read the entire incorrect link. You still would have noticed at the end of that thread he discussed (invited) members to attend the real-time session along with posting direct links to the source of the real-time meetings.

I and many other ET members attended the real-time trade sessions on Google +Hangouts. He then started another thread (my hint to you) that contain the Google +Hangout info plus the recorded real-time videos and the thread was short-lived as I stated before.

I attended the real-time sessions for a few weeks...good trade performance by him and the TA discussions were just generalities but consistent with what he was doing. Yet, as time went on, I noticed others stop attending including myself due to how much of a resource hog Google +Hangout was doing on my backup computer.

Note: I know bmwhendrix was just trying to be helpful and save you some research time.

P.S. You can use Google and look for his recorded "Live Trading Webcast" (not the hindsight chart recaps)

  9. Sadly, indextrader7 only serves to prove Surf's points. He seems like a nice guy, well intentioned and very hard working, but thusfar trading has not worked out for him. He has posted about his results on another site since leaving ET.

He tried to start a CTA last year and lost double digits the first month, and his business partner quit and told the clients to take their funds out. Since then he has been trying to pass a Combine but has been unsuccessful after 3 or 4 tries.

I am assuming the videos posted here last year are sim account, but am not sure. In one of the early videos he did say he was on sim but not sure if he stayed there.

It's the same story you see over and over again on forums--- big dreams that are never realized. Wish it wasn't so.
