Ha, thanks Bone! Quite a compliment -- folks would say my father looks like Mike Douglas--- but i certainly did not inherit the good looks and lean toward the glen beck side!! best, surf
Folks, we are expecting the selling to continue next week and currently project a 1000 point plus decline in the DJIA YM. The unknown question is whether this be over a several week period or happen extremely rapidly. Holding short YM. surf
I dont see it happening but if it does won't make any difference to me as i would be in and out of the market anyway. On the Es that is. I actually see YM going back up not a 1000 points south. Good luck
Exactly! The market has the bulls and bears always battling it out on every bar sometimes with intensity at other times not so much. Then one side wins, the other capitulates, and we get a B.O. There are plenty of bearish institutions that would agree with you and plenty of bullish that would agree with me. It doesn't matter. Whichever side wins that is the one I go with. I have a directional bias but I can drop it so fast it makes my own head spin.
All good, but we don't believe in "chasing" price like trendfollowers, like yourself do-- its just a different philosophy-- both can and do work surf
BUT, if he is putting on real trades and IF he is gunslinging AND IF he wins big he will have made a name for himself and go down in infamy. He will be remembered on ET FOR making 1000 points on an outrageous trade. Nobody will remember me, or you, for our 5, 10, 30, or 100 points... but they will remember the "surf"..the gunslinger...
If he makes hundreds of "real trades", statistically there should be a few winners. Has all to do with statistics nothing with knowledge. Every watch is always at least 2 times for day indicating for 100% the correct time, even in synchrony with the atomic clock. He does not have to make 1,000 points to become famous. He's already famous, but for the wrong reasons.
I don't chase price. I try determine who has the upperhand bulls or bears and anticipate what price will probally do next and then take a position based up that probability. All BEFORE THE MOVE HAPPENS. Granted some times i am dragging and get left and occasionally chase a bit to get in as I got trapped out of the trade but usually I try to anticipate and get in before the move. That is, I try to predict or forecast what price will do before it does it. I do what you are doing in terms of anticipating price movement beforehand, however, i just use different data for my analysis and my time frame is much much shorter.
