  1. Cut the man some slack.

Surf has been active on forums for decades.I remember his calls on Clearstation board.

You,jamesbon, buddhabob writing hilarious posts,I believe he traded as well.Windy or Windsurfer, can't remember which and Cleartrader, you remember him?
I think he was from West Coast.Good trader, quickly understood bear market was coming and was trading charts, made some top notch calls on bear side and was not shaken by counter moves.

And there was one guy who did post SPX and Nasdaq energy numbers, like if they were description of trend strength. Many times correct on his calls, index would be going up and after market close he would post negative number and funny enough next day it would close below the opening price. He was trading for decades and also used P&F charts.

To those who gained interest after the golden era of late 90's I will testify as a witness Marketsurfer made some great calls as well.Gann wheel disciples, him and jamesbon.
    Those were the days!

  2. Market wisdom about trying to short before the trend is clear, that is not to be ignored: "Never short a dull market...," "It's a bull market, you know...,"

And the best indicator of what Not to do!: "We expect a strong sell off soon... Stay short Surfers and Surfetes... Adding another tranche here... , etc, etc, etc..."

There are lots of people who think shorting is glamorous, more so it seems than going long.
Kind of show off type people, renenegades, brave, contrarian traders, pioneers...
Truth of the matter, shorting on the whole is riskier, less money to be made, more infrequent, more volatile and other factors come into play re fees etc.

Shorting while an uptrend is in progress is further indication of redneck behaviour.

Trading long is hard enough under normal conditions, as they say on average maybe only 10 - 15% of traders make a profit.
Why trade short? But then again, there is no qualification required to trade, don't need a license, fools and their money are soon parted.

    Trading 101 for noobs.

  6. it seems someone may have blown up their $100 nadex demo account.

hands down i think this is one of the worst trades I have seen in 18 years trading. If you short up here (and you shouldn't) you want to be cutting instantly and having a word with yourself. Fundamentals of it are all wrong, money pouring into equities, trump speaking, tax cuts on way, dollar pumping. awful.
