Surfy, stick to timely calls and some of your good humour (which i don't have much of on paper) and for Chrise sake don't lecture anyone on TA or superior methods of trading, and everyone may calm down a bit. I enjoy a bit of good humoured banter which ET is good at, but sure as hell hate constant fighting and bickering.
The ongoing attitude re running down TA / PA detracts hugely from this site.
Selling a book does not an authority make.
    Cheers.

A free press makes for a stronger country. A free ET ....makes for stronger traders...they get to see what works and what doesn't. Free the Surf ...let it/him rise or fall. It might even bring in a pearl! Who knows. Sand in an oyster is irritating but it produces a pretty pearl. Are you the oyster? The pearl? The sand? Or neither?

How's the short going Surf? Turning into toast?
Is it good idea to hold futures overnight or are you so super confident in your system?
Dow futures currently at 20860 as I type.
What was your entry price? Was this it....?
Dont forget to make your exit call and price in a timely fashion to ET.

Recap of all of Smurfs calls on this journal so far:

Call 1: Short 20597 exit 20728 loss of 131 pts
Call 2: Short 20660, exit 20728 loss of 68 pts

Call 3: Short 20708 exit 20780* loss of 72 pts
Call 4: Short 20795 exit 20780* profit of 15 pts
Call 5: Short 20787 exit 20780* profit of 7 pts

*This exit of 20780 is my kind estimate, as Smurf did not give his actual exit price, his actual exit price could have easily been much worse.

    His current open calls:

    Call 6: Short 20814
    Call 7: Short 20808
    Call 8: Short 20825

  7. i am loving the entertainment on this thread. A trader who scales or averages into a position and takes SMALL winners is a chump. If you are going to scale into trades you need to be very disciplined, you have to have a very good understanding of the market and where larger players are reloading. When you scale in and go onside you need to milk it when you catch an expansive trend. Scaling can work really well in the right hands but you will blow up if you aren't disciplined and/or have no understanding of why the market moves. As an example trading crude oil with 500 tick stops ($5) allowing 3 scale ins can work very well in the right hands. You simply have to get out quickly when you are wrong and more importantly dont revenge trade, be patient and wait for the next genuine opportunity.

PS - Dow 21000 likely very soon imo.

You are confusing "previous" with "multi-alias"

Yes I had a previous username. No I did not conduct multi-alias conversations.

My current username was used primarily for tech related posts which I wanted to separate from Chat, so I created a username for that purpose, it was a dormant account.

I received a magna-gram (PM) because of your incessant request to ban people who called you out, claiming I was a multi-alias troll.

Magna reviewed my usage of the accounts and was satisfied that I wasn't conducting multi-alias, nefarious trolling. He advised that the TOS only allowed one account per Individual and stated I needed choose which account to keep active.

I understood and chose to keep NoBias and used it for both tech related and chat.

I, the individual was never banned, I complied with Mgmt's request, mgmt was satisfied, end of story.

This is not the same as an individual who creates a plethora of new usernames and refers to himself in the third person, replying to his own posts, lying about his identify, multiple bans, etc...

You can deflect all you like, my behavior was never like yours.

I acknowledged the fact that I had a previous username, it isn't uncommon, a lot of people have... but few behave as you do.

The Marketsurfer alias thread is proof positive of your Multi-personality-disorder.

From the MS Alias thread alone your referring to yourself in the 3rd person

New traders may not be familiar with this famous old image of Billionaire Trader Paul Tudor Jones

Note the big message on the wall in his office.
Clearly Jones wanted to be reminded of this fact everyday.

Should never predict or expect when trading. Only act on signals and what the market wants to do.
