Understanding how markets work is one thing, timing them is totally different hairy monster. If one is driven by strong bias it can be devastating to capital, of course it can also be incredibly rewarding. I choose to have no bias, just try & follow signals & price. GL!
Yes. In my formative years as a trader I would have a market bias, to my greater detriment. The only conviction I have now is a conviction to my signals and their confluence. I just roll the dice on every setup that lines up. Win, lose or draw looking out for the next play. Not being wedded to a trade and not letting ego cloud my game.
Ya talking gibberish on the surf report. Don't understan' a word yur sayin'. Ya gotta predict (no such thing as trading without prediction), be one eyed, never admit wrong, stick to ya guns, forget about reading 'TA tealeaves' and show that without an ego U's are jus' losers man.
One has to have some bias, otherwise one would not take a side. There is a big difference between a prediction and a bias. A prediction can cost you a lot of money if you are foolish enough to think that just because you thought something, it has to happen. A bias, can make you some nice money, once you understand why your bias is on the side it is on, when it is time to shift your bias, and when it is time to have no bias at all! Overall, you are correct. Those with no experience will predict and hold on to a bias, those with experience know what will happen if they continue to do as the inexperienced do! Mr surf is no fool. Mr surf is not as silly as most think he is! Mr surf is making money, while most on this site are throwing it away, and no matter how hard they try, can not stop doing it! To stop, one must first realise what is wrong. One can not realise what is wrong if one keeps listening to idiots posting rubbish on the internet
How do you know he is making money (from trading activities)? I assume you are closely connected with him, otherwise you're bullshitting.
Your point regarding bias I accept. My bias is obtained through a confluence of signals provided via my trading system. I do not have pre conceived ideas. To have pre conceived and self righteous ideas would only project onto the real market flashing before my eyes. Allowing the trader to form fit available information and stimuli. You mention Surf. I wish him well but I honestly do not think he can trade. He displays a temperament unsuited to trading in my opinion. When you trade day in day out you can sort the wheat from the chaff fairly easily. I just hope he is playing the Devils advocate with this journal.
