Not trying to pick a fight with you but where do you get this data from to make a comment like this? Last Week's Commitment of Traders report shows an INCREASE in Longs from the Large/Institutional Traders compared to the previous report. It is technically wrong to say "the big boys" are all shorting. Large Spec has increased their longs and price continues to go up. "Commercial Spec" is short but that is just insurance/hedging their Longs in individual stocks with insurance in the ES.
MM, -- how about posting a longer term chart of the data rather than a cherry picked short term snapshot? This type of data needs to be considered over the longer term--taking one week against the next really doesn't show what is happening. surf
