I've believed for a long time, serious trading / investing best suits single type people, introverts. Doesn't suit outwardly social people, they hit too many distractions.
I'm 99% in agreement with this. This excludes fee collecting PM's, hedge fund people, and just employees of the financial world in general. They have no shirt to risk.
Warren Buffet, Richard Dennis, Ed Seykota. They all seem like introverted rational types: INTJ's or INTP's. I think even PTJ might be one. Probably 80% of the Market wizards are. Van Tharp used to say that INTJ is the best suited personality type for trading. Smurf is probably the direct opposite of an INTJ.
That's the thing about systematic trading (such as the PD/BTM system). It takes 'personality type' out of the equation. Again today, trolls trolling, Surf earning... INDU 20,572.08 10:40am ET -91.14 / -0.44%
