Why? Green energy is supposed to solve this problem. Does Texas not get enough sun to make solar power worth investing in?
Generated electrical energy is a finite resource. Most of the electricity consumed in Texas comes from non-renewable sources. Even if all electrical energy came from solar and wind, you still have to factor in the cost of generating that energy. Someone has to pay that cost. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_in_Texas
Both you and Reduke are not sensing my sarcasm meter being pegged to the right. *sighs* Guys, you are not noobs here. You should know this. I have posting my disdain about this for years. Green+FossilF must be slowly integrated/ It will not be a quick fix, and FF are NEVER going away. EVER.
A Texan standing in a field looking at a wind generator on one side and an oil well on the other... Take a guess at what is going to happen. Texas might smell funny but the people are not stupid. Large-scale battery technology has... lagged. Its fairly obvious how they will respond in that region. Personally speaking.. there is a large nuclear power station 15 miles from my home. Better living via nuclear fission. Its all fun until there is a Cat 5 hurricane. Still.. I love this place.
