Actually if you ever did an IT project for a government agency that administers public medical benefits at a state level you would disagree completely. Nearly 10% of entries in the systems are for people with no SS numbers (which is only allowed for illegals with children). Their kids may be covered (since their were born here) but many of the items submitted are obviously medical care for the adult & not the child. The parents are getting medical care and the doctor is just billing it as the child. The entire system is fraudulent and the taxpayers are getting bilked. Also illegal moms are allowed to get maternity and birth care all at taxpayer expense. So that anchor baby - you are paying for it.
It's medicare "milking." Providers lobby to get more opportunities for milking built in. It is working well for them so long as they can pass on the paperwork cost, and they can! The only good thing I see coming from this is that the greed of providers will accelerate the absurdities, making it possible to eventually pass single-payer over Republican Insurance Industry and Democrat Big Pharma milkers. Of course it goes without saying our eventiual U.S. single payer system will be uniquely American, and therefore the most expensive, and least efficient, and most profitable in the world! And of course there will be a cut-out for the health insurance companies. Somethings will not be covered, it will still be an 80/20 system so there will be a nice profitable market for supplemental insurance! 20 % of 100K for three days in the hospital is still 20K! (Naturally you need a little co-pay to prevent patient abuse, but it could be capped at some reasonable amount. I won't be, because that would hurt insurers.) Our nation is a profits forward "institution," and we don't discriminate. So we won't discriminate between profits from smart TVs and profits from dialysis. As long as it is a profit, it is equally good no matter the source! This principle is even more American than Apple Pie. America, What a Great Country! Got to Love it!
But wouldn't that hurt Howard Industries profits if suddenly they didn't have illegals to make their transformers. That would raise my electrical bills or decrease the Howard's wealth. That's income redistribution- highly unAmerican. And what about chicken processors. What do you have against chicken? I like chicken. If I don't pay for free health care for illegals the cost of fried chicken will rise. What then! Once we start kicking out illegals we are on a slippery slope to higher wages for labor, otherwise they'll riot because they can't afford fried chicken.
First let's have you look-up the obvious. Does a woman in the U.S. illegally qualify for pre-natal, maternity (birth) care and care for one year after birth care under the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) paid for by tax payers. Let's have you look up the obvious first. https://aspe.hhs.gov/basic-report/o...gibility-snap-tanf-medicaid-and-chip#Medicaid http://www.kdheks.gov/c-f/maternal.html Furthermore... $2 billion Medicaid program mostly helps illegal immigrants https://www.kansas.com/news/article1108578.html
I have always been strongly supportive of demanding all employers use eVerify and the employers who knowingly hire illegals should be strongly punished. Let the raises go up - driven by market forces - employers will have to pay more when they hire citizens rather than underpaying illegals. Similarly some product prices will go up.
"they ultimately cost taxpayers more than seven times what they contribute. The study found that illegal immigrants pay almost $19 billion annually in combined federal, state and local taxes. This estimate is actually considerably higher than what many studies before this have suggested. However, the amount of taxes illegal immigrants pay is dwarfed by the considerable costs that they impose on American taxpayers: nearly $135 billion annually, creating a net deficit of $116 billion. The majority of the costs to taxpayers, $89 billion (66 percent), are borne at the local and state level. This means that American taxpayers are forced to bear the costs of the federal government’s failure to secure our borders every time they pay school taxes, local tolls, sales and excise taxes. It also means that illegal migrants get a lot of benefits that they don’t pay for. Conversely, by a 5-to-1 ratio, the taxes paid by illegal immigrants wind up in federal coffers. Despite states bearing most of the costs associated with illegal immigration, the federal government receives 15.4 billion of their tax receipts, compared to $3.5 billion received by states and localities."
