So it seems because it was based on a right to privacy, contraception is next for the right. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Griswold_v._Connecticut
Not that this is good or anything, but how does this compare to the what, almost a million unborn babies a year put into garbage cans (if their parts aren't sold of course)?
“If Republicans in Congress have any qualms about announcing new abortion restrictions in the event Roe v. Wade is overturned, they are not shared by their state-level counterparts,” The Hill reports. “GOP governors and state legislators are planning to hold special legislative sessions later this spring and summer to consider new measures to remove or restrict abortion rights, after the Supreme Court’s conservative majority is expected to reverse the landmark decision half a century ago guaranteeing those rights.”
To be honest I stopped reading the Alito draft and some of its errors because it was just that... a draft. There still be significant edits to come and I am going to withhold judgement until we see the final opinion which will be the only one that matters.
One of the saddest parts of this whole deal is that the Republicans are doing this strictly for political gain. That's it...
One of the saddest things is that the Democrats would allow abortion up the age of two if they could.
Why would ypou say something so ignorant? I'm not a Dem but it seems like forcing a woman to birth a chlild from incest or rape is nothing but a form of slavery. Tell me, what would you say if you were forced into having yourself neutered? I think you'd be singing a different tune. Maybe an octave higher though...
Comparing carrying a child to slavery is diminishing what slavery really was. That isn't even close and you know it. Being forced into being neutered is not like killing an unborn person who would of had a long, satisfying life. It's murder in the 1st degree. People act like every abortion has something to do with rape or incest. I think not. It's more like Karen got drunk again and let the football team have their way so Karen wants to ditch responsibility and put her "mistake" to death. It is Eternal death without a chance at life for the child while Karen goes on feeling good about herself.
We all know you are a dumb fuck who discovered the internet and thinks he has something to say. But honestly you are too stupid to matter. A case could be made that you should be neutered so as to prevent you passing on your bad genes and racist ideas on to any children. But most of the world understands that would be immoral to make such decisions even thought it would likely be helpful to the community. Unfortunately, you aren't bright enough to understand this, and think you should have an opinion on the lives of women you don't know. Your ideas on what babies are and an "unborn person" are in a word IGNORANT. You should just fuck off and stick to trying to manage your own life which I'm sure is somewhat of a challenge. The list of woman on this planet that need your advice or respect your judgement is a tiny, tiny list possibly an empty list. The one piece of value you bring to this equation is a cautionary one. A red flag what can happen in communities or even countries if any decision making power lands in the lap of dumb guys like you. We've seen it in the past with the Catholic Church for example, where a lack of respect of women/children and subjection of power to religious authorities has led to some horrendous results. We cannot as a modern world let dumb fucks like you have a say in such important matters. Ever. Your IGNORANT ideas have to be opposed in the strongest fashion.
Sometimes fundamentally evil people rise to positions of influence and power. And that usually means trouble. Alito is one of those guys. And he wants to impose his version of morality on the nation. The technicalities of the law don't matter in this situation. It's a fundamentally perverse situation and far too many of them exist in recent years in the US often connected directly with recent Republican governments. Don't get too comfortable at some point Putin was viewed as somewhat harmless by many ( except perhaps his direct victims like the political opponents and journalists he poisoned ). The slippery slope is obvious. It was what two year ago that some on here were saying pushing through an inexperienced evangelist onto the Supreme Court was not a problem. Supporting their argument was that Roe vs Wade would never be overturned. Overlooked was that the Republican Party openly rigged the nomination process over a decade or two creating an extremist majority in power to do whatever they wanted uncontested. I would say the end result of all of this was rather obvious and very real now. Creating a Supreme Court that is more political then about law and fairness is something that usually occurs in banana republics and fascist/communist led countries. Apparently it's what the American people want; well, what a very vocal minority want.
