Five myths about the Ku Klux Klan

    2. The KKK’s primary support is in the rural South.

In pop culture, the Klan is portrayed as a primarily Southern phenomenon. Quentin Tarantino ridicules the KKK in “Django Unchained,” set in the Deep South. George Clooney scuffles with the Klan in the Mississippi-based “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” Atticus Finch sympathizes with — then later denounces — the group in Harper Lee’s Alabama-based books.

While the original KKK was a distinctly Southern movement, developed and led by Confederate veterans, the revived Klan’s 1920s heyday featured a national and predominantly urban base, with the Midwest, Southwest and Eastern Seaboard emerging as powerful Klan centers. Denver, Detroit and Philadelphia each boasted memberships greater than 20,000.

During the civil rights era, Klan activity again became concentrated in the South, and much of the KKK’s most brutal violence took place against Southern civil rights forces. But the group’s strongholds were not in rural locales. They were in and around cities such as Birmingham, Ala., Greensboro, N.C., Raleigh, N.C., and Jacksonville, Fla.

In the ensuing decades, the KKK’s geographic reach has again broadened. Today, the Southern Poverty Law Center’s comprehensive “hate map” locates active KKK units in 34 states, from New England to the West Coast.

This is like gwb showing confederates for Hillary buttons even though the confederate states overwhelmingly vote republican .Yes the kkk spread to other states but the kkk was started in a confederate state,it was started by former confederates who fought to keep humans as slaves and most of the violence, intimidation and lynchings etc took place in the confederate south.

The confederate south is and has always been the most racist part of the country. It was the confederate states who fought a war against the united states to keep human beings as slaves. The confederate south is where the KKK was started and was most violent. The confederate south was home to jim crow, segregation, the most violence against minorities ,anti civil rights etc and today they are represented by the republican party.

"This is like gwb showing confederates for Hillary buttons even though the confederate states overwhelmingly vote republican."

You do realize that most Southern states had Democratic majority legislatures and Democratic governors until 2010 -- including North Carolina where I live. In our case Democrats were in power for over 100 years before the Republicans took over (because the Feds locked up all the leading Democrats in our state for corruption -- but that is another story).

All of the people listed on the "Ku Klux Klan members in United States politics" list are Democrats. The only one to switch from being a Democrat to a Republican is David Duke. The list of Democrats include many in office in the modern day era.

  6. I've wondered what would happen if Trump told those Lefty judges, "FU, you're wrong"... and pursued his ban regardless. ??

Personally, I'd support a policy of "100% ban on all immigration"... at least until all the illegals and "refugees" have been rounded up and deported. (Yeah, there'd be some pissn' & moanin', but letting hoards of muslim savages, as well as hispanics, into the country has consequences.)

    to win races

The Federal government, lead by democrats, took the lead in civil rights so the confederate south stopped voting for democrats on the national level first.Republicans on the national level took advantage of this and started courting pissed off racist confederates with their "southern strategy".Democrat politicians in the south on the local and state level were slow to embrace civil rights and stayed tolerant to confederate flags, schools ,streets, monuments etc named after confederate leaders to win races and they didn't pass the same kind of civil rights laws that democrats passed on the national level so they stayed in power in the south longer.

    Southern strategy

The Southern United States as defined by the United States Census Bureau

In American politics, the southern strategy was the Republican Party's policy to gain political support in the South by appealing to the racism against African Americans harbored by many southern white voters.[1][2][3]

As the Civil Rights Movement and dismantling of Jim Crow laws in the 1950s and 1960s visibly deepened pre-existing racial tensions in much of the Southern United States, Republican politicians such as presidential candidate Richard Nixon and Senator Barry Goldwater developed strategies that successfully contributed to the political realignment of many white, conservative voters in the South to the Republican Party that had traditionally supported the Democratic Party.[4] It also helped push the Republican Party much more to the right

this is how the left operates.
we have a terrorist problem throughout the world caused by among other groups Muslim jihadis.

So, when you try to do something to protect americans from terrorists the left for some reason fights it by bringing out their rascist and klan rhetoric. Their side does not even debate on the merits... they just bring up their your a racist rhetoric.

And the morons voting for democrats buy into this without the leftist even having to explain why we need more immigrants.

The Klan and The Confederacy caused a terrorist problem in The US before Muslims did and racist republican voters still love them.Take a drive through the south and see all the confederate flags, streets, schools and monuments honoring confederate leaders who fought to keep human beings as slaves.
