You refuse to open your mind and adapt: Paraguay, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Albania, Iceland, Scotland and Norway are all above 90% operating on renewable energy. While these clearly don't represent a large % of the world's population, they are the tip of the trend. Many large nations, like the UK, Germany, France and even China are reaching 50% of their consumption from renewables. I am a proponent of nuclear as a viable alternative energy source, even if the renewables crowd would call this heresy. I feel that more research should be funded to find ways to further process nuclear waste but even now it's a far better solution than coal.
