i catch your drift and i appreciate the playfulness of your
    'endorsement'.

We may have sharply contrasting views of ultimate reality, but i think we understand each other.

    rock on :)

Very sharp, but I appreciate and respect your views Dark...

and really that is the beautiful thing about the human mind... One of us is living in a state of illusion (and I am not implying it is U) and when we "catch on" we will still have the ability to wake up :)

    Rock on! DARK

    PEACE and good trading,

If only the rest of the world could disagree in the classy and civilized manner :)

  3. Ok, i'll go first.

EVIL: whatever is morally unacceptable, totally culturally dependent and a wholly subjective construct that does not have any existence apart from man's mind. i don't see evil as having any absolute meaning or existence. without man there is no evil. would evil exist in a dead lifeless universe consisting only of space dust and rock. of course not! is an asteroid colliding with the earth killing everyone evil, no, ha! does a dog know evil. of course not. does an insect know evil. no. only man knows evil because he gave birth to it. evil is whatever society says it is. what is evil in one culture is morally acceptable in another. very simply take man out of the equation and evil ceases to exist. :-/

Not in Darks world though... For he who makes reality gets to set the rules :p

Saying that evil exists in the objective world is like saying the little girl that John Nash continualy saw existed in the objective world...

    PEACE and good trading,

  7. No actually you have it backwards.

It's Man's reality. We own it. He just exists in it.

Run a search Faster Nobel Prize winner in economics... Also happened to be schizophrenic :(

The movie a beautiful mind is based on his life story... Excellent movie and if you have not seen it yet I suggest you take the time... Brought tears to my eyes... and if this man can overcome schizophrenia without medication and still be a professor at Princeton than any and all struggling traders can stabilize the demons in their heads...

  10. Faster:

If I were an atheist, I would agree with you. If there were no God, good and evil would be purely subjective concepts.

However, since there IS a God and I am NOT an atheist, I know full well that good and evil DO exist because HE defines them.

We disagree, but we understand where our paths diverge, regarding the existence or nonexistence of God. And with our main disagreement pinpointed, we can hopefully understand each other better.

For you to admit plainly that morality and meaning are false constructs in your eyes, makes you a more honest atheist than many I have come across.

We are both men of faith, and rational or not, we both move forward with the necessary conclusions that our faith has thrust upon us.

p.s. sorry to hear about the short thing (pun intended). I'm 6'2", good looking and hung like a rhino so I can't really relate :D
