Yes, apart from the contingent that does not care, there are three proposed solutions to the conundrum of reality. Here are the nutshell summations: 1) Logical positivism: Science is the only valid method. Anything beyond the here and now is hocus pocus. Put up or shut up (with scientific proof). Don't bother me with anything else, I don't want to hear it. 2) Mysticism: Logic is illusion. All is contradiction. "The no-mind not-thinks no-thoughts about no-things," as Buddha says. Do not try to define the real, embrace nothingness. Just be. Chant. Listen to the sound of one hand clapping. 3) Rational belief in God: Objective standards exist. Absolute truth exists. Logic and reason are the foundational tools of discovering truth. Apparent contradictions are flaws in one's perception, not flaws in reality. Present reality does not make sense without God and confirms God's place as creator and order maker above all things. There is a higher order and assigned meaning to events. Life has an apparent purpose. There is no need to bury our heads in the sand (1) or embrace contradiction (2). No illusion, just hard reality with an understanding that reality is more than what we see firsthand. Faster is in camp 1, you are in camp 2 (I logically assume, correct me if wrong) and I am in camp 3. Since you seem to embrace eastern thought, I can't resist quoting Suzuki: "In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert's mind there are few."
Wise words. As my Grandma used to say when everything went wrong (and she lived through the relentless bombing of the East End of London in WW2) 'at least you've got your health, nothing else matters'.
