  3. Could you ( or anyone here) recommend a book for someone who would wish to change their eating habits, especially breakfast, from coffee with sugar and crumb cake to much better stuff?

I tip my hat to all of you who have provided really good information, especially from personal experience.

  5. Here is what my healthy breakfast usually consists of:
    1. 16oz glass of Tropicana Grape or Orange juice
    2. A hearty size bowl of some sort of high fiber cereal which is usually some sort of granola or Kashi
    3. A double Optimum Nutrition Gold protein shake to wash everything down.
    4. A gallon of green tea throughout the rest of the day.
    5. Repeat each morning.

  6. P.S. if you don't already take a regular dump every morning before the open then I would reccommend eating this breakfast at least an hour before because you will most likely have to take a healthy dump (or 2) fairly soon after consuming all of it. It's all about the morning deuce......

You don't need a book, just discipline and a desire to change your health.

Food is a very addictive substance. 3 months ago I turned 30 and looked in the mirror. I did not like what I saw and decided to do something about it. Before then for breakfast, I ate chicken or sausage biscuits, hash browns, 44 oz dr pepper, and a king size bag of m&m's. For lunch and dinner, lots of fried foods, buffets, and then brownies, candy, more m&m's sometimes snacking up til midnight. In the past 3 months I stopped drinking all cokes, which was my weakness as I was consuming at least 1 gallon a day of it, quit eating any kind of candy, except for gummy bears, started eating the breakfast in the post above this, no more fried foods, mainly grilled chicken, beef, rice, vegetables. For snacks now instead of brownies and m&m's, I eat lowfat popcorn. I have dropped over 20lbs since then. I lift 3 times a week and I run 2 miles every other day and do abs. I feel great and have much more energy. Quit putting it off, just start eating right, and doing exercise. The hardest part is starting but once you do, you will never regret it once the results start showing.

  9. Start slow, substitute Equal for sugar and use non fat dairy creamer in your morning coffee. You can get egg substiute at any grocery store and find a good protein powder (eg champion nutrition) to mix it with. I dont eat before the open because I dont want any insulin spikes which can make me sluggish. After a while, like volente said your body and mind will change and it will become second nature. Its nothing complicated just need to have some discipline. Good luck...

  10. I would say my favorite breakfast is eating out my girlfriend, then making a Back to Basics smoothie with frozen berries, vanilla whey protein, half a banana, Stonyfield Farms Banilla yogurt, a handful of ground flaxseed, and water.
