  1. I am getting a mixed response privately...It's like a box of chocolates. Electric do you trade this? Why are you writing so much about this? You are confusing me with your threads in ET...Do you chart and over-analyze everything? my gawd I have never seen such a complete illustration of mindless trading! ETC...ETC...

Look...Do not read anything into this thread or me. Things do not always appear as they may.
    • Do I trade this... HELL NO!
    • Why are you writing so much about this? Isn't ET a place for reading?
    • You are confusing me? Am I confusing you?...Good! you are getting less lazy then
    • Mindless?...well yes

P.S. Face it...we are all looking for blood in the streets...(that could be a song!)

  2. If this thread had any value what-so-ever, then it would not be so much fun to write it. That is just me..ok?

But...if you get one thing from the "ET experience" you will get the meaning of Satire. Question: Could Satire be the denial of reality?

I didn't know anything about grid trading until you started posting these threads. I freely admit I find it somewhat fascinating. Thanks for posting these.

  4. Hello xiaodre,

I am glad you read the thread. At least there are two people now ☺

Grid Trading (laying a pattern of trades around a price) is really fascinatiing to me also. Its all about balance. Can the movement of price be captured enough to survive the drawdown during the carry? Could a profit be realized? Does the price continue in one direction forever?

Can a trader really not care about the direction of his trades? Can he really just trade mindlessly like Electric has for over 30 years? I mean really?

If logic and mathematics is all it takes to win at this rigged game of Retail Spot Forex, well then welcome to the Holy Grail of Mathematics. If not, well then we must lose. Does Grid Trading eventually present too low of a yield because of the huge balance required to trade it?

Lets hope for a long trend to really test "Super Money Grid" to give the hope needed to build confidence. Can this really be done? Can I trade without a direction? Can I lose my mind?

Ostensibly this type of trading will do very well for instruments that have a lot of retracement of moves. That's basically every commodity and every forex pair. I'm going to look for books about grid trading theory now.. if any actually exist.

EDIT: just for the record, I like the grid you were running without the martingale progression better, but I don't know enough about it to make a real informed opinion. It's just a gut feeling...

  7. me too! (I started a 4K version of the 0.01 method on EUR/GBP just like the other thread had. I am running both this one and the other one at the same time. They each have 4K in them)

If I am going to open a long term savings account, I would rather it be without martingale....or I better have emergency money on hand to funnel into it in the event of a storm.

Lets watch how these numbers grow into the trend on cable and it will be much clearer. Pray for a slow trend growing each day...I want to kill this version of the grid and a trend that is slow to build will kill this version as you will run out of margin. Now keep in mind that this EA will keep the boundries sucked up close...it is the margin available that kills.

The emotion must be removed and the results are all that count!

  10. There is not much to report. Cable is trading betwen the boundries (197 PIPS apart). The swap cost is adding up as this carry continues. It will be interesting to watch. The NAV has improved a little just now, but wait for the next trade report to see more.
