Has anyone given a Predator Pro a try? Its an automated trading platform that can be used to fade the open among other things. Can anyone suggest anything else to try?
www.predatorpro.com Just trying the product name between "www." and ".com" is always an intuitive first option...
Hi abogdan, Nice pic! It doesn't answer any questions for me. It simply raised a big one: "Does it make any money?" nononsense
We have been very cautious with it. We trade 500 share lots and follow about 200 stock simultaneously. Average return on capital for the 5 past months was about 0.32% a day. We are connected to two BDs via their APIs. One of them is IB. Actually, it is going to be an article on us in Barron's probably next month or so. I will have a chance to explain it better there. I would be happy to answer your questions if you would like to know some specifics. Cheers,
Hi abodgan, Thank you for giving some more details. As a futures trader, I now see where you are getting at. You have quite a selection problem with the 200 candidate stocks as compared to my realm. Would it be possible to say something about your mean holding period? As you indicated before, you make about 2500 trades a day (each trade = 500 shares I suppose). What about standard deviation of the 0.32% a day? What about drawdown over these 5 months? (I hope you don't find me too curious!) Be good, nononsense
Not at all! I would be happy to answer any question. On average our holding period is about 1min 45 sec. Our average return per share (NET) is around 1.8 cent. Our biggest drawdown was 7.2 cent. Our average losing trade is 3 cent. The win/lose ratio is around 76%. We use our own expert system with adaptive rules. Cheers,
The performance is pretty impressive. Do you think it will scale? How big can it get? Do you have to change much to do size? [Richard]
We are going to start scaling up in about 20 days. I will not hide, we have jitters. It should at least let us to increase 4 times (that is what our model shows). If we achieve that we would know then what to do next.
