Sunny Harris interview about her 4 decades long trading experience

Discussion in 'Psychology' started by Pekelo, Mar 27, 2023.

  1. Listed to a part of the interview - amazing woman, she developed an indicator, improved it throughout the years and lives on if for decades. Amazing proof that in trading you need to really just master one pattern/type of entry, no need to be greedy.

Also that she grew a company and was able to sell it for millions before she was 30 - WOW WELL DONE!!

Regarding the books & courses - I do not really have a bad opinion about it. But I can imagine if you live for trading, you want to pass it on as your legacy. The website itself certainly does not look like it is her main source of income hihi.

Anyways - I am a fan of hers now

  2. Even so, with her stated background and after 40 years? With 14-hour work days? And a mentor?

  3. Not even close. Sunny Bands are $2,208 ($2,945 value!). But, yeah, otherwise it pretty much looks like the same pablum. Kind of reminds me of Larry Williams, who took the "stochastic" indicator, turned it upside down, and then put his own name on it.

We can look at that from different sides. Times changed, she used to trade long only stocks. Now she trades futures. I am sure if she traded more contracts her results would be better, but I assume this is what she is comfortable with.

I agree with the 14 hours being too much.. Seems to be way overdone. 3-4 hours should do it. I don't think she trades 14 hours, she just works that much, whatever that is including gardening and babysitting.

Once I asked the CVS pharmacist why they are selling homeopathic shit? She said:

    "Because people buy them."

Why would CVS miss out on the sweet $5-10 for 1 oz of water scam? So the same deal with Sunny, in America if you get just mildly famous, you leverage that into infinity and will sell something, be it indicator, NFTs, signatures, unicorns, books, survival kits, mentorship...

If someone pays that much for Sunny bands, more power to her. :)

I would like to take the opportunity to mention Pekelo Bands. On sale now for $999!!

    All colors are available!

  6. Keep in mind that she said she started trading S&P 500 index futures in 1982, which is when they were introduced. At the time, the contract was worth $500 a point. (It was reduced to $250 a point in the later '90s.) You would think that with her stated percentage returns over the years and relatively modest reported losses, that she would be presently trading at a different level. Sure, volatility is different than it was in the early '80s but, even so, if she's making ~$2,000 a day as she reports, what trading size in the minis do you imagine that might entail, and how is it that it looks like she hardly moved from Square One?

Not that I'm one to talk, but then I don't write trading books, offer mentorships or sell $3k indicators.

  7. A valid observation. And what does that tell you about her as a "mentor?"

Do you think Larry Williams is swinging gazillion contracts by now? I don't know the details, the lady is happy and she is making half million per year by doing what she likes. Very few people can do that. Maybe she likes mentoring and that fulfills her life, beside being another source of income.

Personally, I would automat the system and be tending my flowers. I don't get the fascination with watching the screen all day and pushing buttons...

  9. I have written extensively about my opinion of Larry Williams over the years here at ET in all my username incarnations, supported by evidence. None of it good.

  10. Not a bad life at all, if accurately presented. Just that the combination of her reported past and present does not quite pass the smell test for me. Maybe it's just a visceral thing. But I don't think so.
