    A great idea!
I was told if you study and add the orbit of the moon around Jupiter to it, the results are astounding

LOL. I can't believe my little suggestion had such a cynical response.
Seriously, for those TA traders, moving averages are a very important part of their toolkits. People have been trying to improve MA from the get-go to reduce lag. MA, EMA, front weighted MA, volume weighted MA, Hull MA whatever. But I have never seen the momentum-weighted MA before.

  3. Mickey was just kidding around. Everyone knows that interplanetary lines of support are the gold standard.

Kidding aside, my own opinion is that MAs, of whatever variety, may potentially be useful reference points, but fall well short of functioning as entry/exit signals. That's a bit like trying to perform surgery with mittens, and the discussion is now revolving around how thick the wool should be. I think an MA overlay may have some shortcut visual value but it is a blunt instrument that falls well short of being useful without an underlying method in place.

    Yah, super idea!
    I gotta 'nuther great idea!
If the momentum-weighted MA doesn't quite make it, you could try momentum-weighted OBV, if that doesn't quite work, try momentum-weighted RSI, and if that still not 100%, try
    momentum-weighted STO.
There's hundreds of indicators you could adapt.
Actually this is very clever strategy, spend all your days creating indicators, never mind no time for trading. :)
Yup, it goes on and on, chasing yur tail. :)

This is ridiculous. I guess you are a day trader then. For system traders, how much time do you need to spend on trading? Half an hour a day? Just wait for the signals and enter/exit. If you automate the systems, it will take even less time. Most of your time is spent on research ideas or fine tune the systems.

Most of my time is spent doing nothing.
Thank God for Easter weekend, going away kayaking and swimming and bike riding with a bit of dining out thrown in.

Yah, all of my systems are set up now, taken years, but not much to do now.
I don't automate trading at the broker level, but all the signal timing features are automated.
Placing a trade takes a minute or even less, inconsequential.

Hopefully, maybe I'll dream up even a better trading idea, just to give me something to do, but right now don't see a requirement.

It sounds like you only trade theoratically and have no real world experience.

It's the same in the large trading and investing firms. They just log into their system in the morning for one minute and let the systems run. They even do this remote nowadays, learned by covid, and relax on tha beach. gl pal

You are right, I am not a corporate type big shot like you, lol. Though I have to renew my large trader registration every year with SEC, I am trading my own accounts.
