False in it's entirety. The minimum wage has done nothing to raise the standard of living. It should be abolished or at least never raised again.

70 percent of the 2 to 3 million people making minimum wage are 34 years old or younger. There just aren't a lot of people making minimum wage. However many of those jobs will be eliminated by employers if the min wage is increased. --Or prices will be raised and the cost of living will rise and the whole debate will go back to the starting point. It's a vicious cycle that will be never ending. --Time to end the minimum wage once and for all--

If employers don't pay living wages, people will look to and vote for the government to make up the difference.Walmart, the biggest employer in America makes huge profits and the Walton kids are worth around 35 billion each while many of their employees get section 8,food stamps ,medicaid, obama phones etc because their wages are so low.

Corporate America loves that kind of thinking. While corporations makes records profits the government has to pay for their employees food and health care.

Hmmmmmmm not sure where you could have misconstrued what i said, but i agree with that 100%.

With that said, I would hope most companies try to cut costs, while looking at a way to bring more money so shareholders.

Bottom line is raising minimum wage to 15 bucks an hour doesnt solve that problem, and the only people who wont be able to get around that are SMALL businesses.

The scenario you have dreamed up in your head where by companies pay pennies on the dollar for people to work 16 hours a day does not exist in the united states. That is the worst strawman i have ever seen. Name one place where that happens in the U.S. You are just giving me the ridiculous liberal argument.

Bottom line just like i said before if we increase minimum wage to 15 bucks an hour the average cost of an apartment will soon turn to 3k a month putting the person in the exact same position. You cant just turn up wages when there is an overabundance of simple labor, and too many people who need a house, its basic math.

An increase in minimum wage will effectively destroy American manufacturing which already has to compete with $4/hr Mexican and Chinese labor.

Yep, you nailed it cause we are so close too asian wages where they make 2 dollars a month and someone at the UAW makes 60k per year....... its close.... LOL.

One wrong move and capitalists like Tim Cook might be setting safety nets outside of AAPL's nonexistent manufacturing facilities in California. :D

    It's actually like 4 vs 12.

I live this everyday. Raising the minimum wage will hasten job exports as the breakeven analysis move more and more in favor of china and Mexico.

Your two examples are extremes: sweatshops vs most powerful union.

Yes thats 100% true. The two numbers I took were two extemes, but thats the only place you can go to prove the point. I went to the most extreme level, because its most obvious at that level. We could sit here all day playing "50 shades of grey" but its most obvious at the most basic levels, and it seems idiotic if people interpret it differently when its that obvious.

    Its basic math.

I don't know what you are trying to say, but the middle is where all the impact is. And that's where the "truth" lies vs just proving a point.
