people that are sicker have less muscle mass, no sh^t? they are bedridden. they die more often. not of less muscle mass, BUT OF THEIR ILLNESS. people that have more muscle mass are not necessarily healthier. Or live longer. unless, they are healthy, and not bedridden.
And those with less muscle mass are more likely to become sicker and stay sick. What is the matter with you? Not enough roughage?
The Masai tribe of East Africa consume 200g or so of protein a day as so does the average Texan male. Both seem to be healthy.
Do you have a link regarding their protein consumption? Regarding Texans' life expectancy, they're middle of the road as far as the US is concerned: https://www.worldlifeexpectancy.com/usa/texas-life-expectancy In any event, you'll have to take it up with the authors of the article I posted. I'm just the messenger.
Now, compare that chart to this one: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/okinawa-japan-longevity-diet-eat_n_5c6b107fe4b01cea6b883962 A lot more than simply 'good genes' going on here.
People that are healthy are active, robust and maintain more muscle mass. They are not healthy because they have more muscle mass, they have more muscle mass because they are healthy. There are health benefits to being fit? cardio & strength training? Certainly. However additional health drops off quick I think.
