Unfortunately the article I'm linking doesn't contain the detailed table that accompanied the print edition in yesterday's Miami Herald. The gist: Emergency rooms in Miami, Phoenix, and Orange County lag the nation in per capita visits. The leaders? Union heavy, Cleveland and Boston. The verdict? As any one with larger than a pea for a brain knows, those INSURED are the most frequent consumers of health services. Think about it logically. For those of you not insured it would probably take a gunshot to the head for you to seek medical assistance. For the insured, ESPECIALLY those on public or quasi-public policies, i.e. unionized labor, a hang nail is excuse enough for a costly visit. http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/business/15061280.htm?template=contentModules/printstory.jsp
