Which simply tells you that only half the population participated. So far you only denigrated half the previous generation rather than demonstrating why that is/was the case. I doubt anyone intentionally sat back and relaxed when everyone else worked hard. A lot of boomers back then encouraged women to stay in the kitchen or take on meaningless "support jobs" and when you couple that with the high divorce rates we see through several decades then there should be no surprise that they have very little to make ends meet.

I never said nor suggested about Russia or Ukraine what you claimed. Don't be an asshole. I don't feel sorry for the generation, I just pointed out that the lie of the American dream is dead for a long time except the few who enjoy the incredible combination of being 70% extremely lucky, 15% extraordinary smart and hard working and 15% being very well connected.
You apparently seem to make up stuff along the way, same as how you put words in my mouth. Your $2 wages are completely made up and nowhere near reality. The reason I pointed it out is because the reality actually defeats your entire argument. They are paid closer to minimum wage which makes it actually competitive with 20 to 30% of all jobs in the US. Or do you actually believe everyone at Walmart, gas stations, low level admin jobs even in technology, get paid much more than minimum wage? Reality is that a large swath of the population gets paid very little and can only make ends meet in multi member family homes with multiple income earners. The economic model currently run is pushing a large portion of the population into poverty and close to collapse while regulators stand by and do nothing when corrupt CEOs who ran their corporations into the ground get paid dozens of million in parting gifts. Media play a big part in hiding the true state of the economy and condition of households. Immigrant workers very much compete with a significant portion of the US population, if you deny that then you are simply ill informed.
Disposable income went to the top tier only. Even when Trump or Reagan were in charge, 80% of the population had no increase in disposable income. Economic justice should be MAGA's main focus, it would be nice if our votes were counted honestly.
