It really is amazing how well Orwell predicted our times. The term you're referring to is called "Doublethink", and it <i>used</i> to exist only in the realm of science-fiction dystopia. Another spot-on Orwell prediction: Oppressive gov't coming up with ironic names for all their bullshit: Patriot Act... Ministry of Truth... Clean Skies Act... War is Peace... Freedom is Slavery...
