Student Tasered after asking Kerry questions

Discussion in 'Politics' started by DrEvil, Sep 18, 2007.

  1. What confused me about the vid was that that big black cop was basically carrying the kid out of there without any trouble after the girl cop and the little guy couldn't handle him. No way that kid was getting away from him. Why did they need to taser him?

  2. IMO, it's because cops are under no obligation to risk personal harm to themselves by having to physically subdue a guy when another method is available.

  3. Jesus H. Christ. Some of you need a clue.

    1. The campus cops certainly aren't censuring speech. They could give a fuck what the kid was talking about.

    2. The kid has a history of wise ass behavior. i.e. the whole incident was a stunt.

    3. Probably no need for a taser but like Haroki, AAA and Cohiba alluded, cops really don't fuck around when it comes to resisting arrest. Comply or your going to get zapped. As my ex-cop Dad used to say, "I'm not paid to fight."

    4. The press coverage in SoFla makes the kid out to be a disruptive putz who got what he deserved. A rare time I agree with the media......

Everyone has their view on whether or not he should have been dragged off and tazered ... I don't see many comments on the fact that he was never going to be allowed to ask that question (valid question) and it was never going to be answered.

Can someone point out to me how one should get that question to kerry and have it answered without being put in jail?

  6. Well, apparently from some accounts, he rushed the mic and cut in line to get his q's out there. This prolly isn't a GOOD way to get his q's to Kerry. If he just would have left without making a scene, more than likely he just would have been escorted out of the building, and at most, depending on his reaction to being escorted out, given a citation for making a scene.

And Kerry seemed like he was going to answer - he even called out to let the kid speak I believe, so I think your statement that the kid's q wouldn't be answered to be more than just a little suspect.

Kerry stated that he would answer the question at the point where the kid was on the ground at the back under 6 cops... why didn't he answer the question for the benefit of the audience?

Also, you haven't explained how one can get such a question to kerry and have it answered?

  8. Had to watch the complete video again. Were the "cops" really just campus police?

1- Agree, it looks like Kerry might have answered, he might even have been speaking while they were wrestling the kid outside - one can hear Kerry saying something like he "wished someone was swearing him into the office of the Prez right now" or something similar. So maybe he responded some, but wasn't caught on video. Who knows - a first hand account would be great to answer this.

2- I said what I felt WASN'T a good way to get his q's out there. A reasonable interpretation of that would be that the reverse WOULD be a good way to ask a question of the guy. Namely, wait your turn - and not rush the mic, if that's true, there are some reports on the youtube discussion area below the video that that's what happened before the video started, but he was allowed to speak after someone in charge let him go ahead - and ask away. And like you said - Kerry looked like he WOULD answer, so that kinda answers your q. That he was arrested is by his own hand. If he had just shown a "little" respect when asking, he prolly would have been fine....

Also, I noticed in the video that just before the "cops" grabbed him, he turns and argues with someone in a suit, saying that he's gonna stay and ask his q's and that he wants to inform before he asks his q's, or something like that. Then the "suit" looks like he starts waving at someone to come here, and THAT'S when the "cops" grabbed him. That would explain why they were standing there in the first place - they were there cuz of the earlier incident that WASN'T caught on video. So if they are campus police, it looks like they're just responding to the wishes of the "suit", which could be someone from the university or even one of Kerry's guys. I'm sure there's more to find out here about the whole thing though.

You have misinterpreted my statement. I am saying that Kerry only mentioned that he would answer the question when he saw the guy was about to be tazered ... and hence he then went on to excuse himself from answering it.

He still had a full audience ... i'm sure everyone would have been interested to hear his answer. I certainly would have. However he chose not to answer it.

The reality is, there is little chance of get this question to kerry and have him answer it.

  10. Ok, I'll accept your statement that Kerry didn't answer the question about whether or not he threw the election to Bush since they are both involved with a secret society that has world domination as their main rallying point. His actions in the following years - lotsa criticism of Bush etc, may give a hint what the answer might have been. Think about this - if it's true, he wouldn't admit it anyways. And if it's so ridiculously stupid that it doesn't warrant an answer.......draw your own conclusions based on what you say happened regarding whether or not Kerry actually answered him.

But I think you need to rewatch the video again bro. I believe Kerry was going to answer when the cops first grabbed him, not when they had him at the back of the room and it looked like he was gonna be tasered. But the melee broke out and we can hear Kerry saying things like ok, settle down, etc, etc....

But what's your response to the "suits" involvement in the whole thing. In the video you posted, we can see the "suit"with the white shirt give the "cut" sign across his neck. Looks like he may have been in charge of the affair. It would be interesting to identify this dude, right?
