I am completely offended by it too. But, on this subject there is a house divided... my wife loves activities. She thinks the kids need to have lots of activities to get into college... I am like no... get good grades and just be really good at one of them... if you are really good at one... you can get a scholarship or have the team's coach pull you into the school. So with my eldest just entering 9th grade we will see if I have to defund some activities or if I will be an establishment R and talk a big game but already know I will cave.
